Types of contract : Fixed-term contract up to 31 December 2026 (renewable depending on funding availability and performance).

Salary and benefits : Monthly Gross Salary BDT. 83,829 with other admissible benefits such as festival bonus, provident fund, gratuity, medical benefit, group life insurance, mobile & internet allowance etc, as per HROD Policy.

Job Summary:
Under the overall guidance and supervision of Manager - MEAL, the Officer – MIS is responsible for ensuring accurate, ethical, and secure collection, storage, analysis, and sharing of GBV and protection data in compliance with ActionAid Bangladesh’s data protection policies. The role includes managing data entry, analysis, and reporting for supporting programme improvements. The Officer will work closely with GBV caseworkers and officers to keep data updated and will lead data management and MEAL functions for the One-Stop Crisis Cells, One-Stop Crisis Centre, Shelter Homes and Regional Trauma Center in respective project locations. Responsibilities also include training staff in safe data practices, coordinating monitoring and evaluation activities, and providing information for donor reporting and evidence-based programme adjustments.

Key responsibilities include (not limited to):

Technical Capacity:

  • Develop and implement GBVMIS process improvements to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Maintain regular communication and work closely with MHPSS Officers, Case Managers, and Caseworkers to monitor activities, supervise data-related tasks, and provide necessary technical support.
  • Regularly update and maintain project wise GBVIMS and others activities data within MEAL Info of AAB’s data management system.
  • Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and security of project participants’ information by enforcing required data protection measures for all system users.
  • Provide timely support to senior management regarding requirements, planning, and timelines for additional data entry or reporting needs.
  • Ensure the high-quality and timely production of periodic reports while maintaining a smooth two-way flow of information on project implementation.
  • Develop, update, and maintain a comprehensive database for project participants.
  • Assist the MEAL team in designing, developing, and strengthening the Information Management System for AAP.
  • Support to establishing an accountability system and tools following CHS in the project.

Reporting and Data Management:

  • Design a Gender-Based Violence Information Management System for the Project and develop data collection formats and reporting templates.
  • Orient the data collection tools to the staff.
  • Update IPTT aligns with MEAL Info in monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance and quality of data in line with AAB and donor requirements.
  • Generate and submit Monthly GBVIMS statistics to Donors and Sectors.
  • Develop Pre and post-test questionnaires for literacy and Numeracy.
  • Develop reporting templates for Response and Prevention.
  • Assist in conducting Assessments and generate Assessment Report.
  • Develop tools for MRM on kobo.
  • Regularly update project data in AAB’s MEAL Info and MEAL in generating management brief report.
  • Submit 5W Report & Kobo report timely.
  • Assist in generating quarterly and annual reports for the project.
  • Assist in generating progress reports monthly and documenting as per the requirement of donor and AAB management.

Field Visit & Quality Assurance:

  • Undertake regular field visits to monitor and check the accuracy of data collection and use of tools.
  • Collect information from the project site and develop relevant case/success stories and documented evidence based on the impact of our work.
  • Provide hands-on support to project/partner staff during field visits.
  • Closely work in UNFPA system (WPR Reporting)
  • Document good practices, lessons and challenges and communicate as appropriate.
  • Facilitate various trainings including GBV Case Management, GBVIMS, and GBVIMS+ for AAB–UNFPA staff, other AAB project staff, and external organizations as a certified GBVIMS Training of Trainers (ToT) member.
  • Plan and initiate to capacity-building activities for Case Workers to enhance their technical knowledge and service quality.
  • Ensure that all project-related information and documents are stored in secure locations (online and offline) in line with the donor's requirements.

Communication and Sharing:

  • Share Monthly GBV Case Management information.
  • Participate and contribute to coordination meetings with project team/MEAL team.
  • Organize and coordinate training, meeting, and workshop as required for smooth project implementation.
  • Regular sharing (without exception) of MEAL findings with staff, partners, primary stakeholders, and other appropriate forums as well as MEAL reports update to the decision structures for future actions.
  • Any other reasonable duty as may be assigned is consistent with the nature of the job and level of responsibility in consultation with Manager-MEAL and assigned Project Manager.

Relationships

The incumbent will report to the Manager - MEAL.

Required Educational Qualifications and Experiences

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience on data entry, analysis, software-based GBVIMS reporting. Working with GBV prevention & response, experience to work with community people specially with women is preferable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics/Information management Sciences, Social Sciences, or another relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • Experience in conducting protection monitoring and assessments, in developing and strengthening service mapping and referral pathways.
  • Previous experience with electronic or mobile data collection software like KOBO Toolbox/Open Data Kit (ODK).
  • Knowledge and experience in data management (i.e. data processing, analysis, presentation, and reporting).
  • Knowledge and experience in data processing by using statistical software like Power BI or Microsoft Excel.
    Required Technical Competencies
  • Technical understanding of core protection concepts, prevention, and response strategies in line with best practices.
  • Experience working in protection in an integrated manner with other humanitarian sectors of intervention.
  • Experience working with displaced, or conflict affected populations.
  • Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to consistently meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures.
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, as well as demonstrated experience in advanced data analysis or capacity to learn appropriate software.
