Key responsibilities include (not limited to)
- Register visitors and maintain an accurate log of all entries and exits in OCC.
- Provide support to the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) officer, the GBV case workers and the team if any survivor arrives at night.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
- Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises.
- Protect the organization's assets from theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues.
- Report timely and accurately on any suspicious activity, criminal behavior, security breaches, and any issues that arise within the facility.
- Maintain the “do no harm principle” by showing respect to the women and girls coming to the facility and maintain confidentiality.
Impact of the results and deliverables
The main results/deliverables include - but are not limited to
- The GBV facility is a safe and secure environment where women and girls can seek services in a confidential and private manner.
- Women and girls find a welcoming and supportive atmosphere at the entrance of the facility, and are received with respect, empathy and understanding, regardless of their background or situation.
- Women and girls can easily access the GBV facilities, including if they have any specific needs (e.g., disability, language barriers) and are assisted accordingly.
Relationships
The Guard/Guard cum Cleaner will directly report to the most senior GBV case worker in the assigned facility.
Required Educational Qualification and Experience
- Class VIII (Eight) grade certificate
- At least one (1) year of relevant experience in a similar position.
- Understanding the principles of confidentiality and privacy.
- Good inter-personal skills, communication skills, non-judgmental approach and empathy, particularly when interacting with women and girls.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication in Bengali language. Fluency in Chattertonian language is a strong asset.
