Key responsibilities include (not limited to):
Skills Training Delivery (50% of time)
- Conduct practical sessions on tailoring techniques, including fabric cutting, pattern making, and stitching garments in 3 Camps.
- Teach hand decorative stitching to program participants.
- Ensure participants gain confidence in tailoring and hand stitching through hands-on practice.
Curriculum Design and Implementation: (5% of time)
- Develop a step-by-step training curriculum tailored to participants' skill levels, from beginners to advanced learners.
- Incorporate culturally relevant designs and techniques into the curriculum.
- Update training modules based on feedback and emerging market trends.
Participant Support and Assessment: (10% of time)
- Evaluate participants’ progress through regular assessments and provide constructive feedback.
- Offer one-on-one mentorship to address specific challenges and build participant confidence.
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation.
Product Development and Market Orientation: (10% of time)
- Guide participants in creating high-quality, market-ready garments and stitched items.
- Share insights into design, finishing, and quality control to enhance product appeal.
- Educate participants on current fashion trends and market demands for tailored and hand-stitched items.
Resource and Safety Management: (5% of time)
- Manage sewing machines, hand stitching tools, and materials, ensuring their proper maintenance and use.
- Ensure the training environment adheres to safety and hygiene standards.
- Prepare and communicate a list of required tools and materials for training sessions.
Coordination and Collaboration: (5% of time)
- Work closely with the Project Officer and other team members to align tailoring and stitching activities with broader program goals.
- Collaborate with market linkage staff to connect participants with potential buyers, local businesses, or cooperatives.
- Engage with community leaders and stakeholders to promote the program and its benefits.
Reporting and Documentation: 5%
- Maintain detailed records of participant attendance, progress, and achievements.
- Document success stories to highlight the program’s impact on participants' lives.
- Submit periodic reports to the Project Officer, including recommendations for program improvements.
Embedding Feminist Leadership Principles and Anti-Racism Practices: 10%
- Act as a role model by embodying Feminist Leadership Principles in daily work and team interactions.
- Foster team awareness and create a supportive environment for adopting Feminist Leadership Principles.
- Actively promote anti-racism practices and ensure personal and team actions reflect this commitment.
Required Educational Qualification and Experience
Education & Training:
- Certification or formal training in tailoring, hand stitching is preferred.
- Minimum secondary education is necessary; additional training in vocational education is preferred.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of practical experience in tailoring and hand stitching, including garment production or similar work.
- Experience in training or mentoring individuals, particularly women and youth in low-resource settings, is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in tailoring techniques such as pattern making, fabric cutting and hand stitching.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage participants effectively.
- Ability to deliver training to participants with diverse learning needs, including those with low literacy levels.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and market requirements for tailored products.
Cultural Awareness:
Familiarity with Rohingya cultural and social norms is highly desirable to ensure culturally sensitive training
Language and Technology:
- Fluency in Bangla is required; knowledge of Rohingya or Chittagonian is an asset.
- Basic proficiency in using digital tools for record-keeping or creating training materials is advantageous.

Relationships
- S/he will report to Project Officer – Empowerment and Sustainability. S/he will work as a team member in this project.
