Job Summary:
Coordinator - Capacity Development and Innovation position will be responsible for supporting SPA II and the team to identify capacity development areas and support in implementation. S/he will also support the Global Platform team in Bangladesh to forming the Associate Trainer group and taking different initiatives to enhance their knowledge and skills. S/he will develop and design various online and offline training content and materials to develop the capacity of young people at national and local levels. S/he will facilitate or conduct the training by using innovative and participatory methods. In addition, S/he will assist young people to finalise actions after training and take youth-led interventions/initiatives for bringing change to build a just and equal society.
Besides, s/he will communicate and coordinate with partners to organise and facilitate step-down training engagingly. Along with that, S/he will be supporting the National and Local Youth Hub team to mobilise young people and organise different events and programs
Key responsibilities include (not limited to):
Develop Associate Trainer group and coordination (30% Time)
- Reviewing the existing group and adding new members to the Associate Trainer group to keep them active.
- Regular support and follow-up in terms of capacity development interventions.
- Mentoring, coaching, and evaluation of Associate Trainers to develop their capacity.
- Supporting and guiding Associate Trainers to lead and facilitate the step-down trainings.
- Developing and sharing different materials to enhance the capacity and facilitation skills of Associate Trainers.
- Introducing various innovative and participatory methods in capacity development interventions.
- Ensuring quality inputs to Associate Trainers through different monitoring tools.
Design and facilitate need-based capacity development interventions (30% Time)
- Supporting the SPA II and team in identifying capacity development areas and supporting implementation.
- Developing training plans focusing on the project requirements.
- Developing training materials based on the topics and according to the requirements.
- Facilitating training by using innovative, participatory, and engaging methods.
- Identifying and coordinating with internal and external resources to design and facilitate training wherever required.
- Supporting training participants to finalise actions after training and taking them forward to implement.
- Documentation and sharing of the learnings from the capacity development intervention.
Develop and facilitate digital platform e.g. LMS based capacity development initiatives (20%):
- Developing and designing online courses for national and local level young people.
- Introducing and using various online tools to make capacity development interventions more engaging and participatory.
- Developing mechanisms for online courses for collecting feedback to feed into new planning.
- Connecting grassroots young people to participate in various online courses.
Coordinate and support with the team (20%):
- Supporting the team, GPB and Local Youth Hub, particularly the Young Feminist Network (YFN), to mobilise young people from national to grassroots.
- Communicating and coordinating with SPA II partners, Inspirators, and others regarding training participants, step-down training, and youth led actions.
- Coordinating and supporting the young people to design small-scale innovations for their constituency under HUB and GOLD activities.
- Collaborating with respective teams for the observation of different days and events at the national and grassroots levels.
- Maintain proper documentation of the various capacity development interventions, the Associate Trainers' Group, and the Feminist Future Leadership Group..
Relationships
The incumbent will report to Lead - Young People. However, s/he would require maintain relationships with cross sectional personnel and projects.
Required Educational Qualifications and Experiences
- Graduation Degree from any Social Science or relevant fields.
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience including 2 years in capacity development at development or relevant sector.
- Prior working experience on young people issues, climate justice, democratic participation, SDGs and humanitarian action.
Required Technical Competencies
- Understanding Human Right Based Approach and Human-Centric Design.
- Experience in working with national or international nonprofit organisations.
- Experience in supervising trainer groups at the grassroots level.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching young people. Sound communication, report writing and editing skills.
- Understanding on designing online capacity development courses at LMS (preferable.
