Instructor – Beautification

Project: Sustainable Solution and protection for the Rohingya Refugee Community in Camps Project, Funded by UNHCR

Location of posting: Ukhiya/Teknaf

Number of positions: 02

Type of contract: Fixed term contract

Duration of Contract: Up to 31 December 2025 (if not extended)

Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary with other admissible benefits such as mobile & internet allowance, medical benefit, group life insurance etc

Key responsibilities include (not limited to):

Skills Training Delivery (50% of time)

  • Conduct practical and theoretical training sessions on beautification skills, including hair care, makeup application, skincare, and related techniques.
  • Provide culturally appropriate training tailored to the needs and preferences of participants from refugee community.
  • Ensure participants gain hands-on experience and confidence in beautification techniques.

   Curriculum Development: (10% of time)

  • Develop a comprehensive and user-friendly training curriculum that caters to participants with varying literacy levels.
  • Include modules on customer service, hygiene, and professionalism to prepare participants for employment or self-employment opportunities.
  • Update training content periodically based on emerging trends and feedback from participants.

  Participant Assessment and Support: (10% of time)

  • Evaluate participants’ progress through regular assessments, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
  • Offer individualized support to participants to address specific challenges and build their confidence.
  • Encourage participants to develop portfolios showcasing their skills and creativity.
     
    Coordination and Collaboration: (10% of time)
  • Work closely with the Project Officer and other team members to align beautification training with the program’s broader empowerment and livelihood goals.
  • Collaborate with market linkage staff to connect participants with employment or business opportunities in the local community.
  • Maintain communication with local salons, beauty parlors, and relevant stakeholders to identify potential internship or job opportunities for trainees.

Equipment and Resource Management: (5% of time)

  • Manage and maintain training equipment, tools, and materials to ensure their proper use and upkeep.
  • Prepare a list of required materials and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability.

  Reporting and Documentation: (5% of time)

  • Maintain detailed records of participant attendance, progress, and completion rates.
  • Document success stories and the impact of training sessions on participants' lives.
  • Provide regular reports to the Project Officer on training outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

Embedding Feminist Leadership Principles and Anti-Racism Practices: 10%

  • Act as a role model by embodying Feminist Leadership Principles in daily work and team interactions.
  • Foster team awareness and create a supportive environment for adopting Feminist Leadership Principles.
  • Actively promote anti-racism practices and ensure personal and team actions reflect this commitment.

Required Educational Qualification and Experience

Education & Training:

  • Minimum secondary school education and a certification or diploma in Beautification.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of practical experience as a beautician, cosmetologist, or trainer in beauty services.
  • Prior experience in training or mentoring individuals, preferably in humanitarian or low-resource settings.

Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in various beautification techniques, including hair care, makeup, skincare, and nail care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire participants.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Basic knowledge of business management concepts is a plus for supporting participants in setting up beauty-related ventures.

Language and Technology:

  • Fluency in Bangla is required; knowledge of Rohingya or Chittagonian is an asset.
  • Basic proficiency in using digital tools to maintain records or deliver presentations is an advantage.

Relationships

  • S/he will report to Project Officer – Empowerment and Sustainability. S/he will work as a team member in this project.
