In Bangladesh, ACTED started its activities in 2017 in order to respond to the Rohingya Refugee Crisis in the sector of Site Management, Natural Resource Management, Community Based Protection,Information Management, Drain Monitoring & Intervention, Emergency Preparedness Response, & SuLMER & CDCS in the Camps of the Kutupalong-Balukhali Expansion Site, Cox’s Bazar. |

| Key roles and responsibilities |
Implement/Follow up NRM Environmental activities in the camp:
- Develop/Supervise NRM Environmental activities in the camp:
- Supervise regular maintenance of plantation sites and physical monitoring in the informal maintenance activities (i.e. watering, weeding, fencing etc);
- Physical monitoring of secondary and tertiary drain cleaning activities at camps.
- Identify new scopes for plantation and Nature-based Solution with the support from NRM Environmental Officer.
- Select casual labours in cooperation with communities and ensure that there is an equal representation of gender, age and minorities within the workforce;
- Overseeing implementation by casual labours as needed;
- In coordination with the Environmental Officer, conduct assessments to identify environmental needs in vulnerable areas (e.g. land slide, flood prune areas), survival rate of seedlings, reasons for mortality and seasonal growth rate of the seedlings with a focus on improving environmental condition and secondary and tertiary drain condition;
- Ensure all the necessary measure to guarantee safety of casual labours and site population are in place through the implementation of NRM environmental activities;
- Store, manage and maintain tools and items for NRM environmental activities in coordination with the logistic department and ensuring compliance to internal procedures,
- Coordinate with other department regarding procurement of any material resources for NRM environmental activities;
- While carrying out NRM intervention, always paying special attention to accessibility and special needs of vulnerable group, particular of people with limited mobility.
Cooperation with relevant partners and stakeholders
- Maintain liaison and coordination with the Camp in Charge, site management and local authorities during the implementation of pre, during and post plantation and maintenance activities.
- Maintain liaison and coordination with the donor agency and provide support during the visits and monitoring.
- Maintain liaison and coordination with the humanitarian partners working in the camps.
Ensure protection mainstreaming through the activities
- Support and consider gender, protection, and GBV concerns in all aspects of activities;
- Adhere and Promote to Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse principles and guidelines
- Support and promote participation of women, youth, and marginalised groups
- Refer immediately protection cases identified to Program Manager for referral to protection actors.
Manage the NRM environmental activities:
Ensure Management of NRM environmental activities
- Support the NRM Environment Officer in devising weekly and long-term work plans for the implementation of reforestation and drain cleaning activities,
- Ensure regular follow-ups on weekly and long-term work plan implementation of NRM environmental activities,
- Attend weekly NRM team meetings,
- Flag directly foreseen challenges / issues arise in link with the DRR activities to the DRR Forestry Officer, including security incidents,
- Attend inter-actor Operational/Sectorial/Ad hoc meetings in the camp;
- Support the NRM Environmental Officer in identifying areas for improvement and developing NRM strategy,
- Ensure accurate record keeping of project documentation, including photos, as requested by the NRM Environmental Officer,
- Ensure compliance to internal procedures and donor procedures,
- Plan and carry out CFW activities.
HR
- Day to day supervision and management of NRM skilled/unskilled workers (i.e. attendance, work distribution, payment);
- Commitment to continuous learning through trainings and timely identification of capacity-building needs and opportunities, in coordination with the NRM Environmental Officer / HR department.

Fluency in written and spoken English.

Previous experience conducting field data collection with humanitarian or development organizations desirable

Strong organizational skills

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with both field teams, local authorities, and local communities

Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as well as the ability to plan, take initiative and organize work independently.

Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Comfortable working in refugee camp settings and spending majority of time in the field
