In Bangladesh, Acted started its activities in 2018 in order to respond to the Rohingya Refugee Crisis in the sectors of Site Management Support, NFI/LPG Distribution, Natural Resource Management, Information Management, Emergency Preparedness Response, CDCS in the Camps of the Kutupalong-Balukhali Expansion Site, Cox’s Bazar.

Key roles and responsibilities

Project Implementation: Livelihood Activities

  • Facilitation of Training
    • Conduct practical and theoretical training sessions for beneficiaries on homestead gardening and aquaculture techniques.
    • Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to ensure adoption of best practices.
    • Support Project Officer-Livelihood in coordinating training logistics (venue, invitations, participant lists, materials, refreshments).
    • Maintain attendance records and pre-/post‑training assessments; document learning outcomes and recommendations.
  • Technical Guidance
    • Offer on‑site technical assistance on sustainable land/water management, input use, and good practice standards to the beneficiaries.
    • Troubleshoot implementation issues and advise on adaptive management solutions to the beneficiaries.
  • Activity Monitoring
    • Conduct routine field monitoring of all activities, adhering to the project’s M&E/MEAL framework.
    • Use monitoring tools (checklists, scorecards, mobile data collection) to track implementation fidelity, beneficiary satisfaction, and input utilization.
    • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities; recommend corrective actions and improvements.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Establish and maintain regular communication with CIC officials, SMS, relevant sector representatives, implementing partners and relevant agencies.
    • Facilitate feedback loops from stakeholders and beneficiaries; escalate constraints and risks to the Project Officer-Livelihood.
  • Meetings & Coordination
    • Participate in project review meetings; present activity status, challenges, lessons learned, and next steps.
    • Participate in sector and coordination meetings at camps; present activity status, challenges, lessons learned, and next steps.
  • Reporting
    • Produce weekly activity summaries, monthly progress reports, and end-of-cycle/quarterly technical briefs.
    • Report on distribution (seed and fingerlings), training outcomes, participant demographics, challenges, mitigation, and impact snapshots.
    • Maintain proper documentation for all field activities. 

Project Implementation: FLAT

  • Logistics
    • Supporting with accurate and precise information to prepare order forms promptly if requested by the line managers.
    • Confirm the quality of material selection when applicable.
    • Ensure proper management and use of the project assets and stocks.
    • Extend the support to the logistics department in the necessary area.
  • Finance
    • Provide support for camp payments as per delegated by the line managers.
    • Make sure the payment policies and SoP are respected while the camp payment takes place.
  • Human Resources
    • Commitment to continuous learning through training and timely identification of capacity-building needs and opportunities, in coordination with the Project Manager /HR Department. 
    • Make sure the Human Resource-related documents are submitted to the agreed person or place promptly.
  • Security
    • Immediately report any security concern to the Project Manager/Environmental Specialist and the Security Officer.
    • Share recommendations to the relevant focal for the sake of agency staff security.
    • Make sure the fleet and security policies are respected and maintained.
  • Transparency and Compliance
    • Ensuring compliance with ACTED internal procedures and donor procedures.
    • Supporting the line managers in record keeping of project documentation, including photos and proper filing of meeting minutes, databases, attendance sheets, assessment reports/documents, review and updating of databases, etc., in soft and hard copy.
  • MEAL
    • Supporting MEAL colleagues during monitoring and evaluation activities of project implementation and addressing recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of project activities and maximize impacts.
    • Support in question preparation and ideas, as requested by the line managers.
  • Others
    • Support the Project Officer-Livelihood and management in any rational ad-hoc requirements.
Required qualifications and technical expertise

The candidate must have the following educational degree

  • Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Agriculture or any relevant subject.
Selection Criteria
  • For Bachelors with at least 2-3 years of experience in related field.
  • For Diploma or HSC with at least 4-5 years of experience in the related field.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to travel to the field.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
  • High level of honesty and integrity.
  • Good at written and verbal English and Bangla.
  • Fluency in Chittagonian dialect
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and multi-cultural environments.
  • Habituated to extensive field visits.
