| Key roles and responsibilities |
The Field Assistant-IM will be responsible for the following tasks:
Coordination
- Act as the primary focal point for field-level coordination related to IM activities.
- Ensure effective communication between the field team, enumerators, volunteers, and relevant stakeholders to address operational challenges and emerging needs during field activities.
- Support coordination with camp authorities and partners for smooth implementation of assessments and monitoring activities.
Assessment/Camp Monitoring
- Support and supervise the day-to-day planning and implementation of data collection activities in line with the approved workplan and project timeline.
- Ensure the presence of enumerators (host) and volunteers (Rohingya) as per the activity plan and maintain accurate attendance records.
- Monitor the quality of data collection activities, providing on-site guidance and troubleshooting in close coordination with the Field Officer.
- Track daily progress of data collection against targets and share timely updates with the Field Officer and IM team.
- Oversee tracking and proper use of enumerators’ attendance sheets, logbooks, assets, and logistics items, ensuring complete handover to the Field Coordinator upon completion of activities.
- Identify and manage field-level challenges, providing timely solutions and escalating issues when necessary.
- Serve as the focal point for assigned camp-level activities related to Camp Facility and Infrastructure Monitoring.
- Support additional field tasks as assigned by the Field Coordinator to ensure effective and efficient implementation.
Technical Support (IM & GIS)
- Provide field-level technical support for digital data collection tools (e.g., KoBoToolbox, ODK), including troubleshooting and basic configuration support.
- Support data quality checks and preliminary data cleaning, including identification of inconsistencies, missing values, and logical errors, and report findings to the IM team.
- Assist in Field Maps and GIS-related activities, including basic GPS point collection, verification of spatial data, and support for mapping exercises under guidance of the IM/GIS team.
- Support the use and updating of camp maps, facility maps, and monitoring layers to reflect field-level changes.
- Maintain proper documentation of data collection processes, field issues, and technical observations for IM records.
Training and preparation
- Support the translation and contextualization of questionnaires into Bangla and Rohingya dialects, in coordination with the Data Management Officer–IM / Information Management Analyst.
- Review questionnaires and tools with the IM team and provide constructive, field-based feedback.
- Facilitate and support training sessions for enumerators, ensuring full attendance, active participation, and understanding of tools and methodologies.
- Lead training sessions when required, ensuring enumerators are well-prepared to use digital data collection tools and follow standard assessment protocols.
- Participate in capacity-building and refresher trainings to strengthen IM, data quality, and GIS-related competencies.
Reporting
- Support field-level reporting, including daily progress updates, issue tracking, and activity summaries.
- Contribute to the preparation of assessment and monitoring reports by providing field insights, data validation feedback, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure timely submission of all field-related reports, logs, and supporting materials to the Field Coordinator and IM team.

| Required qualifications and technical expertise |
The candidate must have the following educational degree

Bachelor's degree in relevant field (any field of social sciences, development studies, BBA, Economics, Environmental Science etc.) with 02 years of relevant experience or Higher Secondary or School Diploma with 05 years of relevant experience.

| Selection Criteria |

For Bachelors with at least 2-3 years of experience in related field.

For Diploma or HSC with at least 4-5 years of experience in the related field.

Demonstrated willingness and ability to travel to the field.

Ability to work effectively with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.

High level of honesty and integrity.

Good at written and verbal English and Bangla.

Fluency in Chittagonian dialect

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and multi-cultural environments.

Habituated to extensive field visits.
