Purpose of the Job

To oversee the purchasing process of engineering goods and services required for a company's projects and operations. To collaborate with engineering teams to identify their needs, researching potential vendors and suppliers, negotiating prices and contracts, and ensuring that the purchases are made on time and within budget.

Major Job Responsibilities

• Developing different types of source for spare parts & Strong control mechanism in use of spare parts.
• Developing and executing procurement strategies to acquire high-quality spare parts and materials for engineering maintenance and repair activities
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including maintenance, engineering, and operations to determine material needs and ensure timely procurement of spare parts
• Identifying and vetting suppliers, negotiating prices and contracts, and ensuring that suppliers meet quality, delivery, and reliability requirements
• Managing inventory levels of spare parts, identifying critical items, and ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained
• Continuously reviewing procurement processes and identifying opportunities for improvement, cost savings, and efficiency gains
• Providing leadership and guidance to the engineering purchasing team, setting performance goals, and ensuring performance objectives are met
• Developing and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders

We Require

• Graduation/ Post Graduation in Mechanical engineering from any reputed University, MBA is preferable
• 10+ years of experience in supply chain management or logistics roles, preferably in the automotive industry.

Essential Traits:

• Able to think strategically, with the ability to develop and execute supply chain strategies that are aligned with the overall business objectives.
• Should have strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of supply chain professionals to achieve business objectives.
• Experienced in development of different types source for spare parts & strong control mechanism in use of spare parts.

• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
