Founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger is working across 48 countries including Bangladesh. Action Against Hunger begin working in Bangladesh in 2007, following floods in Shariatpur and cyclone Sidr. Since then Action Against Hunger has been working to fight against hunger, undernutrition and responding to humanitarian crisis in Bangladesh with programs in Dhaka, South West and South East parts of Bangladesh

We are looking for a GOVERNMENT LIAISON MANAGER who will ensure smooth communication and coordination among government agencies & Action Against Hunger Bangladesh. The person will be a self-starter working on own initiative to work with each & every level of government structure.  The Position will maintain autonomy to work and play a key role as government liaison.

This role offers huge scope for development within a growing, dynamic organization. The person will act as the key responsible in the organization; government liaison and expedite all necessary permission from government with the support and direction of his/her supervisor.

More precisely your main responsibilities will be:

  • Transmit the necessary documents (FD6, FD7, letters, etc.),  to NGOAB and different ministries including submission, follow-up,  close monitoring on file movements, record keeping and  Facilitation and coordination of Liaison Committee.
  • Proactively obtain visas and work permits for expatriates from government bodies through preparing applications (FD-9), Keeping up-dated record, timely communication, invitation or appointment preparations.
  • Maintain good level of communication with NGOAB and other Ministries through collecting useful information’s, and explain, interpret and translate FD6 to different ACF programs, in the field, meetings, addressed to NGO AB, write up to date memos maintain up to date organograms etc.
  • Take steps to obtain visas for any travel abroad of expats, and nationals based on need and ensure all necessary visas are obtained (transit, tourist or other visas...)
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU SHOULD:
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree from any discipline. Bachelors of Business Administration/MBA, Public administration.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including 4 years in similar role in government liaison/relations.
  • Experience and clear understanding on NGO Affairs Bureau rules & procedure (FDs/FCs).
  • Experience and clear understanding on Security Clearance, Work permit, Visa, and immigration rules/procedure in Bangladesh.
  • Basic computer literacy using of Microsoft Office- Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Problem solving ability in technical aspects.
  • Ability to work in a team and intercultural environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, Self-driven, committed and high work ethics.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
  • Skills in documentation and reporting.
OUR BENEFITS INCLUDES:
  • Gross monthly Salary BDT 93,699/;
  • Festival Bonus: 1 month Gross salary every year;
  • Provident Fund: 7.5% of Basic Salary;
  • Performance Bonus: from 30 % to 80% of monthly Gross salary per year vary from performants;
  • End of Contract Benefits - up to 2 months' Gross salary.
  • Medical coverage: 80% hospitalization coverage medical expenses (max limit BDT 120,000 per year).

PAID LEAVES:

  • 18 days of paid annual leaves per year;
  • 10 days of paid casual leaves per year;
