ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Action Against Hunger | Action Contre La Faim is one of the leading organization in the fight against hunger worldwide. Founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger is working across 48 countries including Bangladesh. Action Against Hunger begin working in Bangladesh in 2007, following floods in Shariatpur and cyclone Sidr. Since then Action Against Hunger has been working to fight against hunger, undernutrition and responding to humanitarian crisis in Bangladesh with programs in Dhaka, South West and South East parts of Bangladesh.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:

You will contribute to Action Against Hunger scaling up strategy by assisting Bangladesh mission in following ways:

  • Implementation of FSL activities including emergency responses
  • To support PM in the capacity building of local partner staffs for smooth implementation of the cash transfer project.
  • Project activities monitoring and reporting.
  • Participate in need assessments and surveys.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Objective 1: Implementation of FSL activities including emergency responses.

    • Ensure timely and efficient implementation of cash transfer project activities under  guidance of the PM and according to the work plan developed with the PM
    • Planning and implementation of emergency response after any disaster hit.
    • Support PM in development of project follow-up and supervision tools.
    • Apply the project’s follow-up and supervision tools
    • Supervise the beneficiaries selection process by the local partner and participate in the selection process
    • Assist PM in establishment of a beneficiaries data base system
    • Identify and inform the PM of any problems or constraints
    • Propose solutions or improvements for the smooth running of the project;
    • Coordinate the filed activities and provide technical support to the local partner’s staff in the field.
    • Liaison with government service providers and facilitate the partnership with the local partner at union level

  • Objective 2: To support PM in the capacity building of local partner staffs for smooth implementation of the cash transfer project.

    • Support PM in development of training module and guideline or revision/modification of the existing training  materials
    • Support PM for training needs assessment of the local implementing partner.
    • Arrange and conduct staff training
    • Arrange refreshers training for staffs
    • Development of tools for training follow-up
    • On-job coaching of the local implementing partner during project implementation.

  • Objective 3: Project activities monitoring and reporting.

    • Participate in developing different monitoring tools (baseline & end line survey, post distribution monitoring (PDM)
    • Assist in organizing and conducting baseline & end line survey, PDM
    • Regular monitoring and follow-up the project’s progress.
    • Assist PM in writing relevant reports (APR, donor report, monitoring report, etc.)

  • Objective 4: Participate in need assessments and surveys

    • Support for designing tools for FSL survey or assessments, facilitate staff orientation on data collection, data compilation, analysis, and report development.
    • Participate in food security joint need assessments and surveys when needed
    • Participate in emergency food security response if any kind of disaster occurred

  • Objective 5: Support for internal and external coordination.

    • Ensure Proper communication between the stakeholders and the local NGO in the field
    • Participate in internal and external coordination meetings with food security actors (ensure minutes of meetings when necessary);
    • Ensure the reporting to authorities or external partners the project objectives and achievements when necessary
    • Support to establish network/linkage with government stakeholders, line ministries and   other private institutions related to the project.
DO YOU FIT REQUESTED PROFILE?
  • You have Master’s degree preferably in Agriculture, Agronomy, Veterinary, Socio Economic, Rural development, Anthropology, Geography, International development.
  • You have Minimum 4 years work experience in Food Security, livelihoods related projects having cash transfer component preferably with an international NGO
  • You have Minimum 1 year experience in Emergency response
  • You have Training on Cash Transfer Programming and related USAID project experience will be a benefit.
  • You have proven professional experience in Project Cycle Management.
  • You have Good command on humanitarian context
  • You have Good analytical capacity and good communication skill
  • You have Good knowledge on food security, livelihoods and DRR
  • You have Expertise on cash based interventions,
  • You have Capacity to work with local partner and Good relational qualities and good knowledge on implementing projects,
  • You have Good knowledge on program monitoring and Good training and facilitation skills.
  • You have Computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Power Point),
  • You have Good English skills (verbally and writing),
  • You have Ability to work autonomously and flexibility.
SALARY AND BENEFIT :
  • Gross monthly Salary from BDT 93,699/-;
  • Festival Bonus: 1 month Gross salary every year;
  • Provident Fund: 7.5% of Basic Salary;
  • Performance Bonus: from 30 % to 80% of monthly Gross salary per year vary from performants;
  • End of Contract Benefits - up to 2 months' Gross salary.
  • Medical coverage: 80% hospitalization coverage medical expenses (max limit BDT 120,000 per year).
PAID LEAVE:
  • 18 days of paid annual leaves per year;
  • 10 days of paid casual leaves per year;
  • 14 days of paid sick leaves per year.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITES:
  • Free and unlimited access to the certifying e-learning platform Crossknowledge;
  • Technical trainings at HQ Paris or regional level (averagely 1 per year);
  • Participation to external trainings
