Access Bangladesh Foundation is inviting young qualified, dynamic, motivated and committed candidates to apply for the position of  Inclusion Lead for the ‘USAID Bijoyee Activity’.  The project aims to empower youth not in education, employment, or training (NEET) with a special focus on young women and other socially marginalized young people. The overarching goal is to equip them with the necessary tools and opportunities to address economic challenges, promote youth leadership, and enhance their capacity to contribute significantly to Bangladesh's inclusive national development and economic growth. This project will support youth entrepreneurship ensuring gender equality, social inclusion, climate resilience and adaptability though locally-led and youth-driven development. This is a consortium project led by Care Bangladesh and funded by the USAID.

Access Bangladesh Foundation, a technical partner of this consortium, is a leading national NGO dedicated to building an inclusive society where persons with disabilities and marginalized people can participate equally. The organization has been working over the last 15 years to promote equity for persons with disabilities and other marginalized people in all spheres of life through education, training, employment, arts and culture, sports, legal services, health care, climate change and information and communication technology.

Education, Knowledge & Professional Experience

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Language and Speech Therapy, Disability Management, Rehabilitation Science, or any other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven professional experience in the development field (minimum 2 years of proven experience in managing disability-focused projects)

Additional Requirements

  • Age at most 35 years (age limit can be flexible for women and persons with disabilities)
  • Highly motivated and committed to work with persons with disabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of disability inclusion and development is preferable.
  • Experience in local inclusive development/CBR/disability rights/inclusive training facilitation/support OPD is preferred.
  • Proficient in time management, leadership, multitasking, facilitation, communication, presentation and report writing skills.
  • Excellent command on MS Office- MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
  • Professional proficiency in English both oral and writing

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiation and advocacy for disability inclusion across Bijoyee project activities
  • Lead and ensure overall effectiveness of disability inclusion portfolio management focusing on quality control and result achievement
  • Collaborate closely with Executive Director and Head of Program to plan and execute project activities efficiently
  • Coordinate the soft skills trainings for youth with disabilities as per the program design
  • Enhance knowledge, skills, and sector-specific know-how and technical expertise of Partner NGOs on disability inclusion.
  • Provide technical advice, direction and support to all Partners to achieve a significant impact on disability inclusion.
  • Ensure budget analysis, budget projection, cost efficiency and effective fund management
  • Provide mentorship to Inclusion Officer and 4 HUB based trainers and learner mobilizer
  • Provide leadership and strategic support for disability inclusion as designed in the program
  • Consultation with Partner NGOs for disability inclusion and organize training as per the program design
  • Deliver technical support and guidance for capacity building, results tracking, capturing learning, best practices, advocacy and networking.
  • Lead in developing a detailed yearly project implementation plan
  • Oversee the program in periodic Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) in liaison with other team members
  • Provide support in preparing progress reports, event reports and presentations for the program for team members, Partner NGOs, program participants and other stakeholders and ensure timely submission
  • Play a pivotal role in evidence-based policy advocacy discussion, networking, organizing job fair and observing any events as per program activities
  • Contribute to developing accessible information, education and communication materials related to the project and ensure disability inclusion
  • Prepare ToR for consultants and trainers for efficient implementation of project activities
  • Perform and assist any other task as and when necessary for the interest of the organization.

Safeguarding

  • Focuses on self-awareness and behaviour regulation according to organizational policy.
  • Maintain gender-sensitive and disability-inclusive approach in all stages of the project and safeguarding measures as per the code of conduct;
  • Ensuring safeguarding and PSEA issues at all levels and taking appropriate measures.

Salary

  • BDT 60,000 (Sixty thousand) only per month gross
  • Other benefits: One festival bonus, travel and mobile allowances
  • Weekly holiday-2 days
  • Salary review on yearly basis
