Job Summary:
The Assistant Engineer/Engineer - Electrical will be a key member of the engineering team, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimal performance of all electrical systems and equipment in the Coca-Cola bottling plant. This role is crucial for ensuring production continuity, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all electrical equipment, including PLC systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), servo motors, sensors, and control panels. Quickly diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimize production line stoppages.
- Operational Support: Provide on-the-floor electrical support to the production and packaging teams. Monitor the performance of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues before they cause failures.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all electrical work is performed according to company safety protocols, local electrical codes, and regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain a safe work environment for all employees. Be responsible for implementing ISO-45001, QSE and BBS.
- Process Improvement: Participate in and lead projects to improve electrical system efficiency, reliability, and automation. Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical machinery and upgrades.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts inventory. Prepare and submit regular reports on equipment performance and maintenance history.
- Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, production supervisors, and quality control teams to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to plant operations and maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from a reputed university.
- Experience:
- 2 - 4 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing, FMCG, or bottling plant and extensive experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of managing complex electrical systems and leading maintenance projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation and control systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), specifically Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with VFDs, motor control circuits, and industrial power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with HMI (Human Machine Interface) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment
- This is a full-time, plant-based position at the Cumilla facility.
- The role may require working in shifts, including nights and weekends, and being available for on-call duties to respond to emergency situations.
- The work involves a combination of hands-on troubleshooting and desk-based planning.
