Position: Assistant Manager, Sustainability, Social Compliance and Producer Development (SCPD) |
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute compliance audits for Ayesha Abed Foundation, Independent Producers, and Aarong’s own and other production hubs
- Design and develop industry-specific intervention plans addressing key compliance issues, safeguarding ethical production practices, and enhancing overall production standards
- Support Aarong’s producers and artisans in implementing Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) through timely monitoring and system improvements
- Design and deliver training programs on social compliance standards, local and international labor laws, and best practices tailored for Independent Producers, artisans, and administrative staff
- Promote awareness and understanding of compliance requirements through workshops and developmental interventions to ensure sustainable and ethical practices
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation of compliance initiatives across production units
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and stakeholders to maintain compliance with international standards, including WFTO, BSCI, SA8000, and ILO conventions
- Monitor compliance activities and track progress against established goals and benchmarks
- Prepare comprehensive reports on audit findings, compliance status, and corrective actions
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on compliance issues and progress
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise in safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
- Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so

Qualifications: |
|
Education:
- A Bachelor's Degree from any reputed university (preferably in Development Studies / Economics)
Experience:
- A least 3 years of experience in the development sector/administration/training and NGOs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Should have a working knowledge of local and International Labor Laws
- Familiarity with social auditing standards (e.g. WFTO, BSCI, SA8000, ILO) is an added advantage
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English and Bangla
- Proficiency in Project Management, Data Management, etc
- Must have good problem-solving & decision-making skills
- Flexible to go for field visits on a frequent basis
