WaterAid Bangladesh (WAB) is looking for a dynamic, committed and self-driven individual for the role of ‘Coordinator - Award Management’ for its country office in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The position will work under the Programme Department implementing WASH projects for target communities in different areas of Bangladesh. The position is accountable for contributing to efficient management of grants through quality reporting, coordination with multiple units within WAB and ensuring donor compliances as per agreements.

The projects of WAB aims to improve access to water and sanitation services and promotion of safe hygienic practices among the targeted underprivileged people living in different geographical context/ areas in Bangladesh. Under the programme intervention, WAB works in three domains: low-income communities, institutions (schools, healthcare facilities) and public sanitation (public toilets) in the respective project areas to improve their WASH services. The efforts also entail influencing respective local government institutes (LGIs), utility agencies, stakeholders, relevant actors, civil society organisations etc.

Key Responsibilities: As a member of the programme team, this role will take the following responsibilities (but not necessarily limited into):

  • Ensure that all donor compliances and requirements are met with the existing and future grants
  • Compile and write periodic reports for the donors as per the agreements
  • Maintain liaison with the donors, provide updates on various issues as the assigned focal from the Programme Department   
  • Coordinate with project/programme teams and implementing partners to obtain detailed understanding of the activities, progress and document them for various reporting purposes
  • Coordinate with MEL unit to track the performance of the projects according to proposed results matrix and collaborate with the Finance department to ensure that the projects meet the financial reporting requirements with the donors  
  • As part of the knowledge management exercise capture critical learning through case studies and coordinate with communications team in furnishing case stories 
  • Carry out analysis of different elements of projects/programmes in determining the performance, potential impacts and inform future project design
  • Support Programme Management team with furnishing ToRs, analysis of contracts and agreements signed with various donors, development partners and vendors
  • Work in close collaboration with Business Development, Programme and Finance units for designing new projects and writing proposals

Requisite qualifications and experience

  • Master’s degree preferably in Development Studies, Public Health, Economics, Environmental Science or relevant subject
  • Minimum 07(seven) years of work experience in the relevant field. Experience in dealing with multiple donors funded portfolio is essential
  • Experience of working with international development agencies, private sector on WASH, climate change or market systems will be an advantage
  • Proven coordination skills involving different teams across the organisation and relevant stakeholders is crucial
  • Strong professional writing skill in English is essential
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation and communication skills
  • Aptitude for innovation, to identify and explore new methods of working
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to produce outputs within tight deadlines in a very busy environment
  • High level of pro-activeness and creativity, self-motivated and positive attitude to work in team approach
  • Demonstrated respect for gender, diversity, organisational cultural and promote safeguarding and uphold organisational values
  • Demonstrated interest in and awareness of issues related to development and multi-sectoral approaches
  • Ready to undertake extensive field visits outside Dhaka
