Tearfund is a Christian international relief and development agency working globally to end poverty and injustice and to restore dignity and hope among the most vulnerable and poorest communities in the world. Tearfund responds to humanitarian crises and complex emergencies globally. Tearfund, with the support of local partners, is currently implementing response and recovery projects (DRR, WSAH, NFI, Livelihood & Protection focused) for the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) and Host Communities mostly affected in Cox’s bazar-Bangladesh.

We are looking for a suitable person for the role of Response Manager who will provide management leadership and be responsible for the effective implementation of the response and recovery projects implemented by partners of Tearfund in Bangladesh. The role will be required to facilitate the building of partner capacity, accompanying them to be compliant to Tearfund Quality Standards and accomplish the deliverables with quality and effectiveness. 

As the most senior representative for Tearfund in the project location, the Response Manager is responsible for representation to the local authorities, Clusters/Sectors, and for coordination with implementing partners and other stakeholders at Cox's Bazar district. The Response Manager contributes to the design and update of the appeal strategy and response strategy by providing inputs from field locations and implementing the strategy at field level.

We are looking for candidates with: 

  • Substantial experience in leading humanitarian response and recovery projects in Bangladesh or in the South East Asian region
  • Good skills and expertise in all aspects of program management, implementation, design, and partnership management
  • Thorough knowledge of international standards and compliances such as CHS, Sphere, International Red Cross code of conduct etc.
