Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the planning, allocation conduct, review and reporting of merchandising resources within a business group that meet or exceed agreed KPIs
- Develop regionally focused sourcing strategies that deliver on the brand strategies of quality at best cost.
- Lead, mentor and tutor all good working practices to those less experienced team members.
- Provide induction and training to new direct reports and new key suppliers.
- Establish Internal KPIs that monitor team performance for relevant business area.
- Update management on business and day to day operational activities and performance.
- Ensure merchandiser teams ensure on time delivery of all purchase orders through management of critical paths using available resources
- Conduct regular market research on current sources of supply, trends, migration & relocation of production.
- Promote development of supplier base through vendor score carding, ensuring areas of accountability are assessed objectively and CAPS compiled and followed through.
- Prepare monthly summaries from data provided by the sourcing teams.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 10 – 12 years’ experience in merchandising & sourcing in a retail environment.
- High level commercial aptitude and ability to lead a team capable of locating best value sources in the global marketplace.
- Sound understanding of cultural differences across regions
- Sound knowledge on related product category and technical requirements.
- Strong experience in influencing and negotiate with and managing major suppliers
- Project management and leadership experience
- Excellent interpersonal & presentation skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Well versed in MS Office applications: Excel, Word & PowerPoint
