Shushilan - a national NGO has been working in the field of Livelihoods, Environmental Resource Management, Health & Nutrition, Human Rights & Good Governance, Disaster Management and People organization development in Bangladesh since 1991. Shushilan is implementing a project entitled “Technical Skills Development and Establishment of Market Linkages for Farmers’ Groups in Cox’s Bazar” with technical support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and financial support from The Embassy of the Kingdom of  Netherlands (EKN). The project has been implementing in collaboration with Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Department of Livestock Services (DLS) and Department of Fisheries (DoF) to build the capacity of the farmer groups, both technically and socially, to improve production through production assessment, customized design, input provision and skills building to address the  key environmental, economic and sociological impacts of the crisis on the local population through both a short and medium-term approaches. Shushilan is inviting application from the qualified and interested candidates for the following positions.

Position: M&E and Documentation Specialist

Job Description / Responsibility

  • Design, develop and implement results based M&E systems for the project;
  • Develop and operations of the relational database systems using multi-sectoral data from heterogeneous platforms;
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual work plan for the project and follow up the accomplishment of the targeted activities;
  • Provide necessary guidance to the field staff on different M&E tools and techniques for monitoring of activities and collection of field data;
  • Tracking of projects progress at a regular basis and update information with the management and FAO representative;
  • Prepare quality reports and documents in consultation with the PC and responsible FAO representative;
  • Keep regular and effective coordination, liaison and communication with FAO, DAE, NGOs and relevant stakeholders at Upazila and District level.
  • Organize and attend various important training, meeting, seminar, workshop in project working areas;
  • Support the field team to organize and take necessary preparation for donor visit and produce report;
  • Provide support to the focal person and organization’s departments for smooth implementation of the project;  
  • Ensure security and safe custody of all data, information and documents;  
  • Identify different field issues and improvement area of integration as well as collaboration with external stakeholders; 
  • Work closely with field team for ensuring quality of information as well as follow up the updating of event reports in MIS;
  • Assist PC to prepare any guideline, process and tools as per the guidance by FAO representatives and senior management;
  •  Collect case studies, document, lessons learned and best practices from the field and finalize the documents for external dissemination and future preservation;
  • Maintain gender and equality following the organizational policy and practice;
  • Respect, maintain and monitor code of conduct practice;
  • All kind of positive motivation to support and response in emergency;
  • In addition to that any other duties and responsibilities may assigned by the authority / organization which need to be carried out.

Educational Requirements: Masters with four years bachelor degree in statistics, economics, social science, agriculture, urban and rural planning and relevant subjects.

Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5 years working experiences in Monitoring, Evaluation, Documentation and Reporting.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Have clear understanding on knowledge management, documentation and reporting skill.
  • Knowledge on relational database systems, monitoring, documentation and reporting tools and techniques.
  • Have data analytical skill;
  • Have a clear understanding and working experience with multi-partners and stakeholder to keep in a platform in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated inter-personal, negotiation and multi-tasking skills.
  • Good time management skill and ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Practicing innovation/creativity and achieving quality results and service.
  • Good proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and PowerPoint presentation
  • Have sound knowledge on statistical analysis of data using SPSS / other statistical package.
  • Good report writing and documentation ability

Salary: BDT 65,000 per month
