PROTECTION OFFICER

The Role:

The role of Protection officer involves reinforcing refugees’ rights to safety and dignity. He or She will work with community’s capacity building in mitigating protection risks, taking local advocacy forward with local authorities and local leaders by facilitating the process for safe & timely access to the various services. This position also ensures distribution of non-food protection items etc. Moreover, Protection Officer will promote social cohesion to reduce protection risks between host and refugee communities, response to COVID-19 related protection concerns and support safe programming as part of Oxfam’s movement.

What we are looking for:

Oxfam GB is looking for a dynamic person with 2 to 3 years practical Protection related work experience and graduation or post-graduation in social science, development studies, anthropology or any other related field to work with communities affected by emergencies. Have strong conceptual and practical understanding of protection issues and approaches in humanitarian contexts and ability to demonstrate willingness to learn. You should have great interpersonal skills, influencing, negotiation and representational capabilities to support, develop and implement Oxfam GB’s humanitarian response in Cox’s Bazar.
