Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University. For 40 years and in over 155 countries, Jhpiego has worked to prevent the needless deaths of women and their families. Jhpiego works with health experts, governments and community leaders to provide high-quality health care for their people. Jhpiego develops strategies to help countries care for themselves by training competent health care workers, strengthening health systems and improving delivery of care. Jhpiego designs innovative, effective and low-cost health care solutions to ensure a level of care for women and their families. These practical, evidence-based interventions are breaking down barriers to high-quality health care for the world’s most vulnerable populations. Since 1977, Jhpiego has been working in Bangladesh in partnership with MoH&FW and national/international NGOs. Jhpiego provides technical support for strengthening health system in the area of maternal & child health and Family Planning to increase access to high-quality health care to improve health outcomes and save the lives of women and their children. Jhpiego’s support to Bangladesh has been expanded to other areas such as- postpartum family planning, quality improvement, policy advocacy and research.

Job Context:

  • Position Reports to: Senior Technical Advisor
  • Location: Dhaka
  • The Team Leader will work under the direct guidance of Senior Technical Advisor and provide technical and programmatic support to the implementation the Achieving universal access to SRHR in host communities of Cox's Bazar District with government counterparts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist Sr. Technical Advisor in the coordination and facilitation with the DGNM, DGHS, and DGFP, UNFPA and other stakeholders at the national and division levels in order to achieve project objectives
  • Represent the projects and Jhpiego in all matters pertaining to the execution of project-related activities
  • Coordinate with relevant training institutions in the development of PPFP trainers in Dhaka, and Chattogram Divisions and Cox’s Bazar district
  • Assist in coordinating PPFP counseling orientations for community healthcare workers, immunization providers and their supervisors
  • Assist in the deployment of a community tracking system for women, babies, community health workers and facility providers
  • Participate in TWGs and take meeting minutes as requested by the Senior Technical Advisor
  • Coordinate with UNFPA and Jhpiego and updating on project implementation
  • Represent Jhpiego programs in meetings and conferences as requested by the Senior Technical Advisor
  • Lead the planning and implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation of project activities according to M&E plan
  • Assist in the dissemination of FP training materials as per plan
  • Collaborate with other staff, such as the district level Manager and project Officer for implementation of project activities
  • Document project progress, including reporting key events and programs and share with team and UNFPA.
  • Prepare and document reports on project for quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports
  • Collaborate with the senior level technical and program team to oversee project activities, ensure timely implementation, and provide timely and accurate reporting to donors

Employment Status : Full-time

Educational Requirements: MBBS or Bachelor’s degree is required, Master degree in public health or related discipline will be an advantage

Experience Requirements: 7 to 8 year(s)

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience including with a background in family planning or maternal health programs
  • Demonstrated experience supporting FP/Maternal Health programs in Bangladesh, including experience coordinating program activities with in-country partners, governmental and non-governmental partners
  • Working experience with private sector partners will be added advantage
  • Creative ideas or interest in innovative solutions would be desirable
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required

Job Location : Based in Dhaka expected to travel up to 40% to support field activities in Cox’s Bazar district.
