Job Purpose: The incumbent will work as a member of a dedicated team for implementing the project “HGSP” of Jhpiego Bangladesh. He will be responsible to supervise and monitor the Operational activities of UH&FWCs of Cox’s Bazar under Health and Gender Support Project funded by the World Bank through UNFPA.

Main duties & responsibilities:

Assistant field coordinator will work to accomplish the project objectives and will perform his assignments under the overall guidance and supervision of the Clinical coordinator, HGSP, Jhpiego. S/he will be responsible to accomplish the following assignment:
Project Implementation

  • Plan and implement project activities particularly delivering maternity care services through assigned health facilities in guidance of the clinical coordinator.  
  • Work in collaboration with DDFP, MO (MCH-FP), Civil Surgeon, UHFPO, UFPO and Upazila family planning office, Local GOB, IP and UNFPA at the national level and with, others at district and upazila level along with Clinical Coordinator-SRH, UNFPA to facilitate project activities.

Capacity Development and Mentoring

  • Plan for continuous development of teams working in the health facilities (UH&FWC), services they provided and quality management systems. In guidance of the Clinical Coordinator he will be responsible to update skills and knowledge of the midwives through organizing training session, competency assessments, workshops, seminars and supportive supervision.

Services Delivery

  • Ensure required supplies and logistics/FP commodities at the UHFWCs from FP department or project. Check ICR, reports and registers/ forms filled-in.
  • Participate in the mothers’ assembly provide necessary inputs to that event. Assist respective manager in supervising the renovation/ construction works including waste management of the facilities

Monitoring and Supervision

  • Oversee the project implementations at the district and upazila level and provide guidance to Midwives, Clinical Aide to maintain EDD list accordingly.
  • Ensure proper service data recording in the health facilities (UH&FWC), support the compilation of data and generation of quality project reports on a regular and timely manner.
  • Work closely with M&E Officer to create M&E flow-charts and tool kits for the assigned project

Program Review and Coordination

  • Prepare and submit monthly reports regarding her assignment, and will support the Clinical coordinator to prepare quarterly/ annual progress reports and presentations for donor/coordination meetings.
  • Organize and conduct periodic collaboration, monthly performance review meeting, at district and upazila level under the guidance of clinical coordinator.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders, specifically who work SRH related activities at district and upazila level.

Representation

  • Represent the organization through participation in the meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars, and symposiums as assigned.

Compliance

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program's goals on safeguarding implementation. She will act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Safeguarding/ PSEA

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. She will follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Special Assignment

  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by the supervisor and senior management team.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Any discipline.  Major in Development Studies, IR, will be added advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in NGO, specifically health sector.

Key competencies:

  • Accomplish scheduled tasks with quality within the timeframe.
  • Ensure active engagement and support of all key stakeholders at all stages of the project accomplishment.
  • Monitor SRH services (Operational) part in selected UH&FWCs of Cox’s Bazar
  • Maintain monthly EDD list.
  • Field visit regularly.

Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Bangla
  • Excellent inter-personnel skills and ability to work in team environment.
  • Gender equality and diversity awareness

Skills:

  • Computer literacy with particular skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Bijoy52, and MS Outlook.
  • Excellent influencing, negotiating and communication skills
