Job Purpose: The incumbent will work under the Head of Finance & Operations to accomplish the project objectives maintaining Jhpiego's global standards. S/he will provide overall program support for administration, financial, and logistics issues to implement the field-level activities as well as national-level activities of the project.

Main duties & responsibilities:

Finance: (60 % responsibilities)

  • Examine all financial documents, i.e., expense reports, invoices, purchase orders, and contracts, to ensure completeness, accuracy, and validity of financial data, as well as being allowable and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the agreement of the award and JHPIEGO/JHU financial systems and procedures
  • Advance payment to staff for program and event purposes (e.g., staff travel, program training and workshop).
  • Review travel expense reports and per diem report with supporting receipts and advances to reconcile and process vendor invoices, sub-recipient invoices and consultant invoices on a timely basis
  • Ensure (deducting or adding) VAT, TDS in bill as per National Board of Revenue (NBR) rules.
  • Bill approval from authority for posting and payment (direct payment and advance reconciliation) in a timely basis.
  • Voucher posting (Advance, Payment Voucher, Reconciliation, Reimbursement in Accounting software (QuickBooks).

Operations: (40 % responsibilities)

  • Prepare the activity budget in consultation with the program team following the project work plan.
  • Prepare and submit activity expenses to the finance team with relevant evidence, and supportive documents for reconciliation.
  • Raise procurement requests as per the program need following approval and support the procurement team to complete the procurement process and supply the goods to the end users.
  • Assist the program team for implementing the field level activities as required.
  • Adhere to Jhpiego's financial and operational policies to accomplish the project activities.

Safeguarding/ PSEA

  •  Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Special Assignment

  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by the supervisor and senior management team.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Masters in Business Studies / Management/ Finance & Accounting will get preference.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in development/humanitarian field or any other relevant organization

Key competencies:

Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Power Point, Excel)

Competencies:

  • Minimum 3 years working experience in NGO/ INGO. Health sector preferred.
  • Computer literacy with particular skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS, Power Point and MS Outlook.
  • Excellent inter-personnel skills and ability to work in team environment.
  • Be willing to take on extra responsibilities in order to achieve the goals/objectives set by the organization.

Monthly Gross Salary (minimum-Maximum):

  • 40,000 - 60,000 BDT
