Job Purpose: The MNH-FP Technical Advisor will provide technical support in the relevant technical area of CNHAHA programs for Jhpiego Bangladesh. S/he will work to integrate national and international standards along the continuum of MNH and FP care, including from facility to community.
Main duties & responsibilities:
Provide technical support in designing and implementing MNH & FP strategies and interventions under CNHA project.
Provide leadership in developing and adapting technical materials in consultation with the DGFP & DGHS, MoHFW, OGSB and other stakeholders
In collaboration with MOH&FW and other partners adapt/customize and validate existing counseling app and e-learning modules on Use of FP methods during crisis situation at central level with DGFP & DGHS, MOHFW.
Organize dissemination workshop to disseminate counseling app and e-learning modules to front line health and FP workers through workshops at upazila level
Keep up-to-date on developments and new evidence concerning MNH&FP and facilitate sharing of update knowledge with other technical staff
Represent the project’s interests in public and professional circles through meetings, conferences and presentations
Assist in development and review technical work plans and budgets;
Ensure integration of MNH&FP services and also ensure that program implementation is in alignment with Jhpiego’s standards
Facilitate capacity building on counseling/referral for facility delivery for different cadre of health workers
Represent Jhpiego in national MNCH policy and strategy discussions as appropriate
Provide leadership in building local capacity through mentoring of counterparts at the MOH&FW in MNH&FP technical areas
Assist Jhpiego program Technical staff to develop and implement in-country training programs, including training materials, curricula, and assessment tools as and when necessary.
Assist with writing technical reports on the above work.
Perform other duties as directed by the senior staff including Country Lead.
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Key Requirements:
MBBS with advance degree in public health or gynecology & obstetrics
Minimum 8/10 years of work experience in Public health, Family Planning field or any other relevant field in Bangladesh.
Working experience with USAID funded project will be considered as added advantage.
Key competencies: Knowledge:
Advanced degree in public health or gynecology & obstetrics.
Familiarity with the Bangladesh health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/ strategies.
Familiarity with USAID policies and strategies will be considered as added advantage.
