Head of Content

Job Description:

  • Develop content strategies and roadmap by analyzing the content market (TV, VoD, Live Contents. Sports etc), trends and customer insights to drive the identification of opportunities, exclusivity and disruptive ideas in digital contents to proliferate overall performance of Toffee
  • Lead the development of a detailed roadmap on a quarterly basis in line with business plan, coordinate with content agency and external content owners’/ production houses/ content rights holders to match the market requirements and pulse
  • Execute and implement the new contents plan effectively starting from identifying potential partners / content owners/ production houses/ content copyrights holders through various market research and evaluation processes with the support of content agency, onboarding, innovative business partnership modeling, designing the GTM, ensuring management approval, complete content onboarding process and go live
  • Secure & Manage rights of the contents to ensure the rightful access of the contents
  • Lead content curation activities to ensure higher user engagement through relevant contents
  • Carry out and maintain the lifecycle of assigned contents port-folio to achieve the expected level of user engagement and other relevant KPIs
  • Direct and guide team to monitor user engagement and feedback, formulate action plans to capitalize on opportunities and address arears of improvement
  • Design and implement innovative partnership models;
  • Lead the content team and the content agencies and build competency in the team and drive executions of the strategy with the team
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the adequate knowledge; identify training requirements and build competency to develop resources, manage performance of direct reports through objective setting, continuous support and feedback and formal appraisal

Academic Qualification:

  • BBA/BSc and/or MBA/MS with major in Marketing/ Finance/ Computer Science/ Telecom Engineering/ Business Policy & Strategy from any UGC approved university

Job Experience Required:

  • At least 8-12 years working experience with content management with proven track record of at least 3-5 years in digital content management

  • Strong understanding of the OTT content platform industry, digital market landscape and environment
  • Sound knowledge in video contents and content management functions
  • Sound knowledge in content rights management and DRM (digital rights management)
  • Good analytics and problem solving ability
  • Willingness to take educated risks and think out of the box
  • Adaptability and resilience to quick changes in priorities, technology, tools and workflow.
  • Strong knowledge in digital asset management, product & pricing
  • Experience in content development lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Team-player who operates in a fast paced team-oriented setting
  • Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information
