Internal Auditor

‘Agricultural Growth and Employment Programme’ (AGEP), a Danida funded program for the development of the agriculture sector in Bangladesh, has been approved. Implementation of the components has started and will continue until 2018. The largest component of AGEP, the ‘Integrated Farm Management Component’ (IFMC) will be implemented by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) under the Ministry of Agriculture. IFMC will promote the concept of Integrated Farm Management through Farmers’ Field School (FFS). The immediate objective of the IFMC is ‘Increased agricultural production and diversification among female and male members of landless, marginal, and small farming households.’

For implementation of the above, IFMC is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Internal Auditor in project offices in Dhaka:

Under supervision of the Chief Accountant, the Internal Auditor will be responsible for auditing accounts of the Headquarter, Regional and District offices of IFMC as well as Upazila Offices of DAE receiving IFMC funds and, where relevant, Farmers’ Organizations receiving IFMC support. The internal auditors will ensure that the accounts of these offices and organizations are prepared for auditing by relevant authorities including appointed independent and government auditors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly prepares reports on the state of readiness for Audit of the various offices and organizations handling IFMC funds.
  • Plan financial, regulatory, compliance and operational reviews/audits.
  • Coordinates work with risk, legal and compliance and other control-related activities.
  • Conducts risk assessments and identifies controls in place to mitigate identified risks.
  • Analyses and concludes on effectiveness and efficiency of control environment.
  • Identifies control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contributes, as appropriate, in the year-end financial audit with the external auditor.
  • Provides advices to the field unit offices on recording of transactions in the double column cash book, accounting, reporting to IFMC following IFMC and GoB financial rules and auditing standards.
  • Plans financial audits considering organizational objectives, structure, policies, processes, internal controls, and external regulations; preparing audit scope and objectives; preparing audit programs.
  • To perform any other related job as required by the CMU.

Qualifications & Requirements    

  • Bachelor degree in accounting/ finance/ business administration with completion of chartered accountancy course (CA CC) from a reputed firm.
  • At least five years working experience in auditing with a reputed organization including 3 years continuous working experience in one organization.
  • Experience with internal audit functions of a foreign aided program will be preferred.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in both English and Bangla.
  • Strong computer skills are essential.

Job Location

  • Based in Dhaka with extensive travel to the field.

 Salary Range

  • TK. 44,000 -  46,000 (All Inclusive)
