Implement South Asia WASH Result Programme under WSUP Bangladesh

Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP) is a not-for-profit partnership among NGOs, businesses, and academia that brings local and global expertise together to deliver water and sanitation services, and promotes improved hygiene, to the urban poor. WSUP supports local service providers to design and implement water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) solutions to meet this objective in developing countries. WSUP Bangladesh is implementing a programme titled “South Asia WASH Result Programme” with Unilever concentrating on School WASH Programme, Funded by DFID. The main objective of this programme on the School WASH is to promote hygiene awareness and practices of 41, 64,342 schools children in16,000 primary schools under 33 Districts of Bangladesh. The programme
commenced from June 2014 and will end in March 2018 (Implementation phase June 2014- December2015 and sustainability phase January2016-March2018). WSUP Bangladesh will implement the programme through partnership with local NGOs of Bangladesh. [Click to download the Programme Brief]

In this regard WSUP Bangladesh seeking Expression of Interest (EOI) from local NGO of Bangladesh from particular Cluster complying with mentioned terms and condition and criteria

The following ESSENTIAL criteria shall be considered to submit EOI

Prior experience working in School WASH ideally with a Hygiene promotion Programme ( at least five years )
Successful initiatives in influencing the government on advocacy issues related to WASH/ Health/ School Governance and working over an extensive programme area
Proposed program implementation approach ( as per the attached programme brief)
Efficient management of HR and procurements process
Strong Financial and grants management system
Donor Fund / institutional fund management experience
Established office at all districts in a Cluster and experience / capacity to provide and manage the required staff assigned to the programme
Organizational Governance
Gender and diversity

Submission of EOI:

Interested NGOs having the registration from NGO affairs Bureau and met the above criteria are requested to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to WSUP Bangladesh

The organisations should develop the project objectives and design project in such way that will contribute towards achieving the purpose and outputs of the South Asia WASH result Programme of WSUP Bangladesh

The organisation should use the given template [Click to download the EoI Template]. The EOI should be written in English language. One organization can submit EOI for maximum three clusters.

The EOI have to be submitted addressing the Country Programme Manager, WSUP Bangladesh, HB Tower (3rd Floor) 23/G/1, Panthapath, Dhaka 1205 on before 16:30 hours, 28 August 2014 and through email by same dead line to the following address:

NGOs are requested to send EOI to the above e-mail account only. Sending to any other account or copying others will be considered as disqualified.

Late submission will not be accepted. An authorised signatory of the organisation should sign initials on all the pages of the EOI with contact detail. Please mention “Expression of Interest” in the subject line.

Contract Requirements

It is a requirement of this Contract that the appointed NGOs will comply with the following policies of WSUP:

  • Child Protection: All Employees, authorized representatives of all WSUP member organizations, project partners, sub-contractors and sub-consultants that receive funding for WSUP projects must read, understand and adhere to the guidelines set out in the Child Protection Policy as set out in WBP900. In signing this contract you are confirming that you have read and understood it and will abide by these principles. WSUP has the right to dismiss or transfer to other duties any personnel who breach theWSUP Child Protection code of Conduct

  • Business and Ethics: As a pre-condition of releasing WSUP funds, authorized representatives of all WSUP member organizations, project partners, sub-contractors and sub-consultants that receive funding for WSUP projects must read, understand and adhere to WSUP’s Business Ethics Policy as set out in WBP800 and further commit to abide by the principles set out in performing the services contracted to WSUP. WSUP reserves every right to accept & reject any EOI without giving any verbal and or written rationale;
