RFP “Developing a handwashing video: encouraging children and families towards good habits”
WaterAid is a leading non-government organisation that provides water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services to the poor and marginalised people, and influences the government and development partners to be more responsive and pro-poor. WaterAid Bangladesh (WAB) employs participatory approaches for promotion of demand-driven service provision that creates access to WASH based on its global principle of equity, inclusion and rights. A main part of WASH is the importance of washing hands with soap in order to avoid health risks that may arise through invisible dirt and germs. WaterAid Bangladesh, in line to this subject, is considering to create an inspiring and motivational educational audio-visual for children, adolescents and their mothers – focusing highly on the benefits of proper handwashing with soap, extending the objective of the video further to the negatives of not washing hands and risk of being agents and carrier of germs.
This audio-visual material, which should have an important blend of both music and educational elements, is expected to play a vital role in enhancing the knowledge, attitude and practices related to handwashing amongst the audience - further instilling a positive lasting hygiene behavior into their day-to-day lives.
