UCEP School & College (USC), an institute of UCEP Bangladesh is going to start its operation from the year 2018. It is located in the center of Rajshahi, a city in northern Bangladesh. The aim of this institution is to deliver quality education for students from Play Group to Class XII under the national curricula of Bangladesh.

UCEP Bangladesh is a non-profit and non-government organization working with the motto “help to learn skills to earn”. UCEP helps underprivileged children/youth to obtain relevant technical and vocational education and training (TVET) for accessing job market with greater employability. UCEP also has job-placement supports, second-chance education and advocacy works for better preparation of the target beneficiaries toward employment. USC is going to introduce Play Group to Class XII both in Bangla version (up to Grade XII) and English version (only Play Group to Grade II). To explore the team of USC, applications are invited for the following position:
Principal

Job Purpose: Principal is directly responsible to the Chairperson of Management Committee of USC for its establishment, management, operationalization as a center for excellence and provide strategic leadership to ensure sustainability. He/she is expected to take necessary steps with a view to uphold the Vision, Mission and Values of UCEP Bangladesh.

Job Location: USC, Rajshahi

Summary of the main tasks:
Leadership

  • To clearly articulate and implement effectively vision, mission and goal of USC.
  • To ensure conducive and inclusive learning and working environment and promote a culture which tangibly reflects the values of USC and UCEP Bangladesh.
  • To set high standards in personal, social and academic achievement throughout USC's community.
  • To develop necessary policies and guidelines for USC and ensure implementation.
  • To ensure transparency, integrity and other governance and compliance principles.
  • To take a leadership role in mentoring, coaching and training of the teaching and administrative staff for achieving high quality of education.
  • To take necessary steps for successful opening of USC.

Strategic planning

  • To take a leadership role in SWOT analysis of USC for its further growth.
  • To develop and ensure implementation of a business plan with short, medium and long term strategic plans and business goals.

Program Development

  • To develop and ensure implementation of program strategy.
  • To provide guidance to ensure relevancy of program.
  • To ensure availability of necessary resources for delivering quality program.

Marketing

  • To provide leadership for developing communication, marketing and advocacy strategy of USC and its implementation.
  • To act as the spokesperson in different forums for USC.
  • To take necessary steps to market the USC to the local and regional community.
  • To ensure students' enrolment targets of USC.
  • To supervise the marketing and mobilization functions of USC.
  • To promote and ensure branding compliance of USC.

Financial management

  • To prepare annual plan and budget and make financial decision of the USC according to its business plan.
  • To ensure implementation of annual plan and budget in a compliant, efficient and effective manner.
  • To ensure that the USC is financially sustainable and has a secure financial future.
  • To control all procurements, revenue & expenditure budget following policies of USC.

Supervision and Monitoring

  • To ensure high quality teaching-learning and better academic result through establishing effective supervision and monitoring mechanism using modern technology based software.
  • To ensure learners centered teaching-learning process and prescribed learning outcomes through effective monitoring.
  • To supervise USC activities on a regular basis for ensuring qualities of services and overall management of USC.

Professional development

  • To lead the performance appraisal of all USC staff & make action plan for their professional development based on proper analysis.
  • To ensure necessary resource pool is in place for carrying out USC operations.
  • To ensure efficient management of human resource of USC.

Health and safety

  • To ensure that USC has a safe and secure learning environment for students & staff.
  • To ensure cleanliness and hygiene within USC premise.

Managerial responsibilities

  • To plan and organize different events and co-curricular activities.
  • To ensure proper management of USC as an institute (assets, legal, human resource, insurance, audit etc.)
  • To plan and host various visit of donors, management, government, SMT, media and others.
  • To organize regular meetings with Management and other Committees.
  • To ensure timely reporting of all kinds.
  • To establish and maintain an effective inventory system for all assets, supplies, materials and equipment.
  • To develop and administer the routine and coordinate all activities within the USC.
  • To encourage and initiate continued improvement in curricula and teaching methods in cooperation with the education specialists, subject area specialists.
  • To maintain effective communication to keep the staff, students, parents and other stakeholders properly informed.
  • To ensure proper career guidance to students.
  • To recommend changes which will lead to improved administration, supervision and opportunity for development of USC and lead the process as and when required.
  • To maintain liaison with government bodies to ensure affiliation, education materials, permissions, approvals and other requirements as and when necessary.
  • To establish network with private sector, employers etc. for guidance and support.
  • To improve the standard of service, work as a member of the team of USC and support others.
  • To ensure positive environment for students with any type of impairments or disadvantaged socio-economic background.
  • To carry out any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Essential qualifications:

  • Master degree with honors in any discipline with minimum 2nd Division/Class at all level.
  • Minimum 12 years of working experience of which 5 years as a Principal of a School or Higher Secondary Institute.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent Communication skills both in English and Bangla.
  • Age limit for the applicant is 45 years.
  • Preference will be given to candidates having management background and experience of running social business enterprise related to education program.
