U.S. Embassy Dhaka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Foreman.

This position directly reports to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for all assigned duties. Responsible for maintenance and repair all electrical and electronics equipment, high and low voltage systems and equipment, fire alarm and suppression systems for all government office buildings and emergency power generation to the USG Mission and Residences. Directly supervises a total number of 12 tradesmen consisting 4 electrician and 8 generator mechanics.


  • Completion of Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C.) and three years Diploma in Electrical/Refrigeration & Air Conditioning trade from a recognized institute is required. (You must attach a copy of your Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C.) & Diploma certificate along with your application form.)
  • Five years of working experience as industrial electrician, two years of which must have been at a Foreman or Supervisory position.
  • Level 3 (Good working knowledge) Bangla and English Speaking/Reading/Writing is required. This may be tested.
  • Thorough working knowledge on high voltage electrical systems and equipment, grounding and bonding all electrical circuits, electrical safety standards, fire protection and alarm systems, building UPS systems, mechanical power generation, ATS, elevators and hydraulic equipment, auto sensor switches, water pressurization systems electrical appliances, critical electrical equipment, BAS and electronic controls. Basic knowledge on NEC and fire codes.
  • Must be able to read and interpret work orders, building electrical wiring, sketches drawings and blue prints, technical manuals, uses of all power and hand tools, analog and digital meters and test equipment, closely supervise skilled and semi-skilled personnel in various trades and quick diagnosis problems, immediate trouble shooting and vehicle driving. Basic computer knowledge on MS word, MS Excel and other Microsoft packages.
