U.S. Embassy Dhaka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Immigrant Visa Assistant (Fraud Analyst).

Incumbent performs duties as Immigrant Visa (IV) Assistant in the IV unit of the Consular Section.  S/he executes all procedures associated with the processing and printing of Immigrant Visas. S/he is primary fraud detection analyst in IV Team who would go through documents that are submitted by the applicants and also look into Consular Consolidated Database and keep a note for adjudicators about his/her findings. S/he performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Arts, Commerce, or Science is required (US equivalent - college studies).  (You must attach a copy of your bachelor’s degree certificate along with your application form.)
  • Position requires a minimum of two years’ experience in administrative, governmental or para-professional.
  • Level 4 (Fluent) English & Bangla Speaking/Reading/Writing is required. Ability to write English at the U.S. high school graduate level is required. Applicant is frequently required to serve as Bangla interpreter for English-speaking colleagues. This may be tested.
  • Must be able to perform duties effectively and tactfully in a high pressure workplace; must demonstrate well-developed team skills and contribute to a collegial work environment and must possess expert interpersonal skills.  Must possess advanced oral and written English language communications skills.
