Job Title : WBC Finance and Business Officer
Project : Women Business Centre in Waterlogging Areas of Southwest Bangladesh (Phase III)
Location : Khulna
Duration : 10 Months
Reportable to : Head of Food Security & Livelihood

Job Summary:

The Trainer WBC Finance and business officer will be responsible for building capacity of the Women entrepreneurs/WBCs/SPA on financial and accounts through strengthening existing Women Business Centres and promotion of sub centres. S/he will provide technical assistance to women entrepreneurs for ensuring financial and accounts services to the community. S/he will establish linkages between women entrepreneurs and   public and private sector organisation in financial services.  S/he will assist to develop an effective plan and implement interventions; and monitoring activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities Tasks
Technical Assistance
  • Selection of WBC and Identify producers groups
  • Facilitate WBC to identify  community needs and develop business  plan
  • Support women business centre  on financial and accounts management of community based business organisation;
  • Preparing financial reports for small scale business organisations; income statement, cash flow, asset and liabilities.
  • Support women business centre for relevant registration
  • Support  women sub centre to maintain savings and credit schemes
  • Establish linkages with financial organisations
  • Assist to organise training for  women entrepreneurs
Content development
  • Develop communication and training modules and materials relevant to  financial and accounts management; retailer training etc
  • Plan content for IEC materials, case studies, profile, disseminate and monitor their utilization and provide periodic updates
  • Assist develop Community business
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports
  • Liaise with public and private sector organisations relevant financial services
Monitoring and reporting and Knowledge management
  • Prepare and update financial records at women business centre level.
  • Support  to print module, profile, newsletter and produce documentary
  • Assist to develop tools and guidelines to measure the results of economic interventions
  • Assist to collect data, prepare progress reports, case studies, and experience capitalisation documents.
Other Tasks
  • Any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor that may be within the scope of the position to ensure the effective delivery and development of the project

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge on financial and accounts management of community based business organisation;
  • Prepare financial reports for small scale business organisations; income statement, cash flow, asset and liabilities.
  • Prepare business plan for community based organisation
  • Good command on MS-Office (MS word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
  • Excellent networking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong    Analytical and Report-writing skills.
  • Ability to handle financial issues with relevant concerns.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule
  • Willingness to travel to, and work in, remote areas for extended periods of time
  • Highly motivated, self -starter, ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Supportive and committed to work for vulnerable groups, Values oriented and Gender sensitive.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills both in English & Bangla.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in relevant subject/Business Studies/Finance from reputed recognized University.

Work Experience

  •  At least 3 years’ working experience in the same or equivalent position in the field of monitoring and evaluation. Experience within a national or international organization essential with a high standard of IEC material, training module and guideline development skills.
