Now UP is looking for qualified and motivated individual to fill up the position titled “Project Officer- Monitoring & Evaluation” for one of its projects named “Improving Nutrition through Community-based Approaches (INCA)” funded by USAID.

Project Overview:

The USAID funded Improving Nutrition through Community-based Approaches (INCA) Project aims to address the high levels of stunting and malnutrition in 11 selected Upazilas under the districts of Bhola, Laxmipur and Noakhali. These upazila combined have a total population of 3,004,228 people with 106,420 registered pregnant women and 100,407 live births in 2015. Taking the 49% stunting level as a reference point, at any given time there area estimated 150,000 ‘1,Improving Nutrition through Community-based Approaches (INCA) day households’ that are at risk and need special care and support.

The specific objective of this activity is to improve nutritional practices during the first thousand days of life to prevent irreversible stunting. Two interrelated intermediate results (IRs) will be: Improved knowledge of communities on proper nutritional requirements during the first thousand days of life; and Increased access to and use of health and nutrition services at community based health facilities.

The 36 month project will be led by local NGO Caritas Bangladesh who have extensive and existing working knowledge of the targeted Upazilas in the field of healthcare, WASH and DRR and technically supported by INGO- United Purpose which has an established track record with market based approaches to healthcare, WASH and agriculture in remote areas and IT for development.

Project Officer- M&E

No. of Vacancies: 1 position

Project Period: The Project started on 15/05/2017 and will continue up to 14/05/2020 (36 months)

Duty Station: The Project Officer shall have the mentality to work in any of the district or Upazila at Bhola/ Noakhali/ Charfassion.

Salary: BDT 44,688/- monthly including other admissible fringe benefits like Contributory Provident Fund, Gratuity, Annual Bonus, Outpatient medical benefit, Health and Group Life Insurance scheme.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with Field Coordinator and Cluster Manager to effectively unroll M&E system
  • Support senior Expert-M&E in designing monitoring tolls, guidelines, upgradation of web base database and real time monitoring
  • Assist senior expert-M&E to update web base database
  • Support senior expert-M&E in designing M&E studies
  • Provide technical and hands-on support to Community Nutrition Promoter (CNP) and Field Supervisor (FS) to collect real time data
  • Ensure systematic cross /spot check and triangulation of data to ensure validity, reliability, timeliness and quality of all data.
  • Analysing data to track progress and provide result to concerned team
  • Provide training of project personnel in using the App and Dashboard
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly progress report and event report
  • Organizing evidentiary documents at field office and support cluster office
  • Participate in special M & E events e.g. survey, workshop

Education Qualification:
At least Bachelor degree in Statistics/Development Studies/Social Science/Social Studies or relevant discipline from any reputed and recognized University/Institute.

Additional Requirements:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in relevant field
  • Experience of working with health and nutritional project
  • Experience in maintaining web base database and real time monitoring
  • Experience of working with USAID funded project will be an added advantage
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Should have valid Motorcycle driving licence and must drive motorcycle
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal & negotiation skills 
  • Spoken and written proficiency in English
