UCEP Bangladesh is a non-profit and non-government organization working with the motto “help to learn, skills to earn”! It serves children and youth and its programme includes second chance education, Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), support for job placement and advocacy for ensuring increased employability and Decent Work. UCEP Bangladesh has special focus on inclusion therefore, gives priority to the underprivileged. At present, UCEP Bangladesh works in 10 districts of the country. Position # 05. Program Officer - Grants & Compliance (Re-Advertisement)

Job Purpose: To contribute in financial planning, reviewing and reporting with all the donor funded projects and ensure donor, statutory and internal compliances of all partnership projects in line with UCEP Bangladesh’s values, vision, mission, goals and relevant country laws.

Job Location: Head Office, Dhaka

Number of vacancy: 01 (One)

Responsibilities:

  • To contribute implementing UCEP Bangladesh’s values, vision, mission and goals, and development of future strategy documents as needed.
  • To maintain donor database and ensure its timely updates.
  • To ensure timely donor reporting as per agreements / MoUs / Contracts etc. as well as respond to donors’ queries.
  • To prepare budget for various project proposals, budget revision for existing ones.
  • To prepare budget segment of all Project Management Guideline (PMG).
  • To prepare monthly financial analysis of financial situation as well as update of financial part of PMG for the management.
  • To prepare NGOAB required documents for approval.
  • To submit, follow-up and ensure statutory approvals.
  • To coordinate all statutory and donors audits.
  • To provide finance related orientation to the employees involved specific projects.
  • To ensure proper documentation of the financial compliances.
  • To prepare reports for Senior Management Team (SMT) and Board.
  • To visit and check compliances of financial management at regional level.
  • To attend relevant donors meetings and visits.
  • To contribute preparation of annual budget of UCEP Bangladesh.
  • To check and ensure tax related compliances.
  • To prepare budget variance related analytical reports and inform respective projects’ key persons to address to variances properly.
  • To prepare timely fund requests for donors and follow up the status of submitted requests.
  • To deal any banking issue in relation to fund clearance.
  • To be able to track and report on any form of revenue for UCEP Bangladesh.
  • To maintain strict confidentiality of information, documents and other internal and external communications.
  • To carry out any other relevant tasks assigned by supervisor as and when necessary.

Essential Requirements:

  • Masters in Accounting or MBA in Finance including CA course completed.
  • 6 years of relevant professional experience including at least 3 years in managerial role in grants and compliance functions in a large organization. 
  • Experience of working with NGOAB and Donors.
  • Excellent command of communication skills both in Bangla and English.
  • Excellent computer operating skills including MS Office packages and trained in ERP and other accounting related latest software and tools etc.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and team player.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently.
  • Age limit for the applicant would be 40 years. Management has the right to make exceptions based on qualifications.
