It serves children and youth and its programme includes second chance education, Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), support for job placement and advocacy for ensuring increased employability and Decent Work. Senior Specialist - Communication, Marketing and Partnership Development

Job Purpose: To lead, plan and implement the communication, marketing and partnership development strategies; strengthen branding, goodwill and credibility; and ensure sustainability of UCEP Bangladesh in line with its vision, mission and goals.

Job Location: Head Office

Responsibilities:

Branding and Communication:

  • To develop (both in English and Bangla) and ensure implementation of branding and communication strategies and guidelines of UCEP Bangladesh.
  • To ensure development of qualitative and effective communication materials (print and electronic media, verbal etc.), both in English and Bangla (including appropriate and correct use of language) following guidelines and ensure necessary dissemination to internal and external stakeholders for branding, marketing and fundraising.   
  • To promote UCEP Bangladesh’s branding nationally and internationally.
  • To develop and promote new branding of UCEP Social Enterprises.
  • To maintain proper analysis and feedback mechanism for systematic upgrading of communication materials including strategies.
  • To maintain external communication on behalf of UCEP Bangladesh following guidance of the supervisor.
  • To act as the key information officer on behalf of UCEP Bangladesh maintaining protocols of external agencies.
  • To orient periodically relevant field staff on branding and communication guideline.
  • To systematically explore, review relevant information, news, documents, research reports from government, private sector, development partners, research and academic agencies etc. to keep SMT updated. 
  • To regularly update and maintain, including providing and regulating contents (text, photos, design etc.) for UCEP Bangladesh website, social media (Facebook, twitter, YouTube, relevant blogs, op-eds etc.).
  • To ensure development and maintenance of databases of photograph, videos, case studies etc. following professional standards. 
  • To ensure development and maintenance of databases for vendors related to materials development, event management, communication, branding etc.
  • To facilitate the requirements of programs department in relation to communication, branding, marketing following UCEP Bangladesh’s policy guidelines.
  • To ensure publication of UCEP Bangladesh reports, documents, news, press briefing etc. both in print and electronic media.  

Marketing and Partnership Development:

  • To develop (both in English and Bangla), upgrade and ensure implementation of marketing and partnership development strategies and guidelines of UCEP Bangladesh.
  • To develop, set and achieve annual target for fundraising and marketing following UCEP Bangladesh’s Business Plan, explore potential funding sources (government agencies, donors, CSR, private sectors, industries, foundations, charities, individuals etc.)  within the country and internationally, and provide timely and relevant information to the management and other relevant departments.
  • To establish networking and linkages with relevant national and international agencies and organizations; develop, maintain and update partnership database and necessary communication with partners/stakeholders. 
  • To roll-out and ensure that the marketing and partnership development strategies are followed accurately by the concerned departments/regions and ensure coordination and capacity development.
  • To conduct due diligence of partnerships using appropriate tools in coordination with relevant departments and provide guidance accordingly. 
  • To coordinate preparation and finalization of partnership concept notes/proposals, ensure timely approval of SMT and submission.
  • To prepare and obtain approval of contracts/ MoUs ensuring legal vetting for partnerships with inputs from all the concerned departments.
  • To organize signing ceremonies and news coverage of contracts / MoUs as required.
  • To represent UCEP Bangladesh in partnership development related negotiations and meetings with relevant programs and departments with guidance from supervisor.
  • To coordinate with Finance & Accounts, Legal, HR and Admin Departments for statutory compliances of partnership management.
  • To ensure effective coordination with M&E and Knowledge Management department for knowledge sharing.
  • To oversee various events for the purpose of building and maintaining partnerships.

General Tasks:

  • To represent UCEP Bangladesh in different forums.
  • To ensure knowledge sharing, policy advocacy on strategic issues of UCEP Bangladesh under the guidance of supervisor.
  • To plan and efficiently utilize yearly budget for communication, marketing and partnership development.
  • To coordinate and visit programs regularly for gaining insights on program deliverables.
  • To plan and host visits of current and prospective donors, partners and other stakeholders.
  • To carry out other relevant tasks assigned by the authority as and when required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Masters in Marketing/Mass Communication and Journalism/Business Administration.
  • 8 years of relevant professional experience including at least 3 years in managerial role in a large organization. 
  • Excellent command of communication skills both in Bangla and English.
  • Excellent computer operating skill & conversant with MS Office package, graphics design, social media management, relevant product development software, tools etc.
  • Demonstrated experience of successful fundraising for a large organization.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and team player.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently.
  • Age limit for the applicant would be 45 years. Management has the ability to make exceptions based on qualifications.
