UCEP (Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programs) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization working since 1972. UCEP works with the mantra ‘help to learn skills to earn’ and serves underprivileged communities in 10 districts of Bangladesh through vocational skills training followed by job-placement, general and technical education, and children & woman rights advocacy programs. UCEP partners with public and private national and international organizations in implementing its program. We yearly serve about 55,000 children/youth in our 66 schools/centers and polytechnic college.  

All the employment, including the current openings, with UCEP Bangladesh are contractual, which are usually made for two years term that are renewable, and transferable, based on the employee’s performance, organizational needs and policies.

Position: Assistant Program Officer, IT (Software)

Job Purpose: To develop and maintain in-house develop software as per UCEP several departmental requirement

Job Location: Head Office (Dhaka) or any other office of UCEP outside Dhaka.

Key responsibilities:

  • To develop in-house software on OOP (Object Oriented Programming) based software development, implementation & maintenance (coding with PHP, jQuery, AJAX, JavaScript, HTML).
  • To be responsible for Database Administration, Management, Maintenance. Accountable to work in Joining, Views, Triggers, Stored Procedures, Data Normalization, etc.
  • To follow-up, analyze and monitor Servers (Database Server, Web Server, Mail Server, in daily basis.
  • Monitor and analyze system logs, server health check, and Data Center environment check in daily basis.
  • To communicate with all IT related vendors.
  • To be responsible for providing any IT supports service in every IT support field.
  • To be responsible and accountable for network security.
  • To actively review, monitor and improve network infrastructure security.
  • To carry out other relevant tasks assigned by the Authority as and when required.

Essential requirements:

  • B.Sc in Computer Science / Eng. or in relevant discipline. Diploma in Engineering may apply for which at least 5 years of relevant experience would be required.
  • 2 years of professional experience in relevant field. (5 years for Diploma in Engineering degree holder)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): IT System, Network Engineer/Network Administrator, Security Management of IT System, and Software Implementation.
