We are looking for a creative and efficient in all aspects of Thai food preparation, Perfectionist Chef. You will be 'The Chief Chef' and maintain complete control of the kitchen. The candidate will be required to do 3 weeks training in North America.

Chef:

  • Plan and direct Thai food preparation and culinary activities
  • Modify menus or create new ones that meet quality standards
  • Estimate food requirements and food/labour costs
  • Supervise kitchen staff’s activities
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
  • Recruit and manage kitchen staff
  • Rectify arising problems or complaints
  • Instruct cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
  • Give prepared plates the “final touch”
  • Perform administrative duties
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Keep time and payroll records
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers and welcome customer feedback and address them personally.
  • Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Order or requisition food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation.
  • Analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labour, and overhead costs.
  • Meet with sales representatives in order to negotiate prices and order supplies.
  • Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
  • Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers.
  •  Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
  • Check the quantity and quality of received products.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
  • Coordinate planning, budgeting, and purchasing for all the food operations.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelors or related culinary degree in the relevant field.
  • Significant experience in restaurant or hotel business, minimum of 5 years
  • Proven working experience as a Thai Chef
  • Excellent business knowledge
  • Clear ability to delicately handle and resolve internal operational issues
  • Clear ability of culinary management
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Must be willing to travel abroad for training.
  • Candidates with international training & work experience would be given priority.
  • Must have valid passport.
