Training & Capacity Building Specialist
Terre des Hommes-Netherlands (TdH-NL) with supports from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dhaka is implementing the project IMAGE (Initiatives for Married Adolescent Girls’ Empowerment) aims to ensure a life with dignity for early married girls in Bangladesh by improving their sexual reproductive health and rights over a period of two years - December 2014 to November 2016. A team of technical experts at the Project Management Unit (PMU) in Dhaka will support implementation of the project to achieve its objective of improving the sexual and reproductive health and rights of 4,500 early-married girls in three northern districts of Bangladesh — Gaibandha, Kurigram and Nilphamari.

Currently, IMAGE has a vacancy for the position Training & Capacity Building Specialist. Key purpose of the position is to ensure knowledge, skills and attitudes to meet the IMAGE training and capacity building objectives at the community and partner organizations level. Competent and confident incumbent who is interested to take challenges of following responsibilities are invited to apply:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall technical leadership and management of capacity building Objective of IMAGE and ensure sustainability of project results.
  • Develop strategy and ensure training and capacity building (both organizational & individual) plan and implementation at all level.
  • Training need assessment (TNA) and training design and conduct training plan for stakeholders.
  • Lead development of capacity building and training materials.
  • Document/monitor results and impact of training and capacity building activities.
  • Responsible for the budget relating to training & capacity building and line management of Trainiing Manager.

Experiences & Competencies:

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in capacity building, training, and management of development projects of which minimum 2 years should be on SRHR and/or gender & women empowerment.
  • An advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) in any subject; Social Science/Public Health/Development Studies or similar field with focus on SRHR and sexuality will be preferred.
  • Possession of a Training of Trainers certificate and skills in Participatory Planning and Management for Behavior Change would be an added advantage.
  • Experience of policy and programme work and capacity building.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate sensitive/complicated issues with wide ranges of stakeholders. 
  • Understanding on Right-based development approach; proven capacity for analysis and synthesis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
