Project Director
Terre des Hommes-Netherlands (TdH-NL) with supports from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dhaka is implementing the project IMAGE (Initiatives for Married Adolescent Girls’ Empowerment) aims to ensure a life with dignity for early married girls in Bangladesh by improving their sexual reproductive health and rights over a period of two years - December 2014 to November 2016. The project will be managed with a team of eleven full-time and part-time staff at the Project Management Unit (PMU) in Dhaka under the leadership of the Project Director, supported by the Project Implementation Council (PIC) consisting of two strategic partners and three field partners.

Currently, IMAGE has vacancy of the position Project Director inviting application from competent and confident incumbents who is interested to take challenges of following responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • The Project Director will act as the Coordinating Secretary of the PIC and Steering Committee (SC) consisting of two strategic partners TdH-NL and RedOrange, ensuring implementation of the decisions and will be reportable to the SC.
  • Lead the IMAGE team and guide for effective implementation include oversees overall planning, development, implementation, monitoring and review of IMAGE for achieving the goal of the project.
  • Provide strategic guidance to technical staff and ensure quality of activities.
  • Ensure the compliance issues, technical guidance and advices from EKN & Bangladesh Govt.
  • Lead liaison, communication, advocacy and lobbying at strategic and policy level.
  • Lead media, communications and visibility related to the IMAGE implementation.
  • Manage and coordinate partner organizations responsible for field implementations, manage budget and facilitate capacity building of partners.

Experiences & Competencies:

  • At least 10 hands-on years experiences working in multi-dimensional projects including three years hands-on responsibilities of managing communication and/or Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights projects.
  • Excellent leadership and negotiation quality, experience of coordinating multi-partners projects will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in advocacy, research and communications including technology (web, social media) based communications and networking.
  • Hands on experience of project cycle management includes managing budget, monitoring outputs.
  • Experience in partnership management and PNGO capacity building 
  • Excellent presentation & report writing skills.
  • At least Masters Degree level education with proficient understanding of SRHR, Rights Based programming and social mobilization, communication both media and community level.
