Job Description / Responsibility

  • To manage the overall implementation of CAP in Kurigram.
  • To efficiently coordinate CAP as per approved project document and logical framework.
  • To monitor the quality of the action by continuously coordinating with other CAP staff and by conducting regular field visits.
  • To review and finalize relevant program documents providing inputs for improvement.
  • To timely supervise and support the Education Officer in the performance of his tasks.
  • To finalize different narrative and financial reports - monthly, quarterly and annually - and submit it to the line management on time.
  • To support the Accounts Officer in drafting the monthly financial projection and requisition and submit it to the Line Manager.
  • To support the Accounts Officer in updating the accounts and related records as per Dhaka office instructions.
  • To monitor the overall budget expenditure of the project, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • To check and approve the bills/vouchers.
  • To check and approve the requisitions under CAP as well as to lead the procurement processes.
  • To prepare, share with other CAP staff and follow the annual work and procurement plan of CAP.
  • To approve leave of CAP staff.
  • To properly lead the performance appraisal process of CAP staff, by reflecting the real strengths and weaknesses of the employees.
  • To prepare and properly file all relevant documents.
  • To ensure proper guide, support and assistance to CAP staff.
  • To check the attendance of CAP staff.
  • To conduct monthly staff meeting with CAP staff and troubleshoot problems by creating a positive working environment.
  • To identify and promote cost-effective initiatives for staff development to improve the project implementation.
  • To liaise with the GoB departments at District and Upazila level to obtain needed clearance and authorization, books and exams paper sheets for smooth implementation of the project.
  • To liaise with the GoB departments and other NGOs at District and Upazila level to enhance cooperation and collaboration with other relevant stakeholders.
  • To build positive rapport both with CAP staff and externally.
  • To think outside the box, generate new ideas, approaches, or insights and develop innovative ways to carry-out the project, shape solutions to problems.
  • To motivate others and create and encourage a team-work spirit and collaboration among CAP staff.
  • To guarantee a child-friendly environment and the protection of the beneficiaries, with a specific focus on early marriage.
  • To promptly report to Dhaka office any emergency case (including but not limited to, child abuse, protection issues, early marriage, beneficiaries death...) and carry out an investigation to understand the facts and take adequate course of action, as per child protection policy.
  • To act as security focal point for TDH Italia in Kurigram, providing up-to-date information on safety/security issues for national and international staff in Kurigram. Responsible for troubleshooting, exploring and suggesting risk mitigating safety and security measures. Responsible for liaising with police stations and other GoB departments to ensure expats' security.
  • Any other reasonable duty as may be assigned that is consistent with the nature of the job and level of responsibility.
  • To agree with, respect and implement TDH Italia Child Protection Policy as well as all the other TDH Italia rules and regulations.

Educational Requirements

  • Master of Social Science (MSS)
  • or Masters of Development Studies/ Any Other suitable area.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 year(s)

  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    • NGO

Additional Requirements

  • Age Age 35 to 50 years
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in designing, implementing, managing, and delivering results-based programmes/projects on education, protection and adolescents empowerment or any other cross cutting programme. Experience in a child focused NGO/INGO will be a plus point.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Sectorial expertise in Education or combined expertise in Adolescents empowerment and protection.
  • Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically.
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Computer literate with experience in MS office.
  • High level of initiative and independence in ability to undertake complex tasks while proactively seeking relevant input, cooperation, and guidance from key constituents.
  • Proven ability to build rapport with individuals and groups and maintain an effective network of individuals across organizational departments as well externally.
  • Ability to think outside the box, generate new ideas, approaches, or insights and develop innovative ways to undertake projects and initiatives, shape solutions to problems.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to motivate others and create and encourage a climate of team-work and collaboration across sectors.

Reports To: TDH Italia Project Coordinator

Duration: One year, with possibility of renewal as per project's needs

TDH Italia is an international NGO registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB) in Bangladesh in 2000. It has been offering financial and technical backing to Bangladeshi NGOs since 1996. TDH Italia projects are mainly focused on adolescents' empowerment and protection, safe migration and educational support for disadvantaged children and adolescents.

Purpose of the Position: The Project Coordinator for the project ''Children Advancement Project", funded through private funds raised by TDH Italia HQ, works under the direct supervision of the Country Representative. S/he is responsible to control the overall budget and expenditure of the program; to coordinate the implementation of the action in the target areas as per approved project document; to monitor the quality of the action by providing adequate support to the other management staff; to finalize quarterly narrative reports and monthly financial reports; to liaise efficiently with the Education and other Government of Bangladesh (GoB) departments, as well as with other NGOs at district level for enhancing cooperation and coordination for the betterment of the program; to provide inputs on how to improve in a cost-effective manner the project and include new low-cost components
