Purpose of the Position:
The Human Resource Officer is responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include record management, recruitment, induction training, database maintenance, leave and benefit administration, policy interpretation, and employee counseling.

 

Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is an international non-profit voluntary organization working in Bangladesh since 1974. Its delegation office is located in Dhaka. The Human Resource Officer is to be based at Cox’s Bazar where Tdh planning to engage to help the displaced people came from Myanmar and in Dhaka for the delegation office. The positions provide services and assistance to the supervisors and staff. The positions assist in the staff recruitment process at the local level. Manages HR documentations and records, which may include information on staff attendance, organizing staff orientation, training and meeting, monitoring performance evaluations, preparing staff benefits, salaries, etc. The position also manages HR software to keep data on the staffs.

 

Main responsibilities:

Provide support to the supervisor in relation to human resources management involving all activities

Prepare monthly salaries and benefits for HR manager to validate

Maintain HR Records for all staff based at Cox’s bazar

4

Assist in staff recruitment process and induction of the new staffs.

Monitor staff attendance, and maintain leave records.

Maintain database of staff for quick information delivery

7

Prepare HR reports for the supervisor.

8

Process staff medical/benefit claims following policy.

Adherence to the HR Policies.

 

Educational Requirements

A university degree in any discipline such as human resources management, business administration with Diploma in Personnel Management.

 

Job Requirements

  • Prior Work Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources with INGO is required.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge on personnel policies and procedures, Bangladesh labor laws, and standard personnel practices with full spectrum of personnel management from recruitment through retirement.
  • Skills and Abilities: Organized, discreet, and people oriented. Possess strong communication skills (both oral and written), able to communicate with tact and diplomacy, and be able to work effectively with employees at all levels of an organization. Skills with MS Office applications -Word, Excel, PowerPoint - and the capacity to learn new software applications. Hands on experience in working on HR software will be a benefit.
  • Language Proficiency: English and Bangla skills are required for writing, typing and speaking. English Language proficiency will be tested.

Others:
Accepts new responsibilities as and when those are assigned by the line supervisor.
