BDT. 48,490; Revision expected in January 2018.

Duties:


Protection Project Management
  • Manage the assigned Protection project(s) to meet the project objectives within budget and allotted time frame.
  • Continuously monitor and supervise Protection activities, overseeing the technical design, execution and evaluation of progress through outputs and impacts using both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to Tdh, donor and other applicable timeframes and formats.

Staff Management

  • Line-manage the Officer(s) of the assigned project(s), including day-to-day management, development and training, appraisals, etc.
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings to ensure awareness of project objectives, and opportunity for feedback.
  • Provide staff coaching and technical supervision to develop ownership / responsibility for Protection activities.

Financial Management

  • Manage the Protection budget for the assigned project(s) and ensure all expenses are according to budget and meet Tdh standards with regard to financial management, including accountability and good governance.

Communication and Coordination

  • Develop and maintain appropriate, regular, transparent and supportive communication structures with the assigned Protection team, Tdh in-country and HQ/Regional Protection managers/advisors and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. beneficiaries, community leaders, local and national government officials, UN agencies and other NGOs), with the objective of ensuring good cooperation and partnerships.
  • Participate in Protection coordination meetings and other working groups or meetings as required, representing Tdh and feeding back to the Protection staff on relevant issues.

Quality Management

  • Ensure Protection projects are implemented in line with donor proposals and requirements and in accordance with Tdh, donor, country and international standards i.e. CPMS, Sphere and CHS standards.

Logistics

  • Liaise, as necessary, with the logistics, admin and finance staff to ensure items are procured, transported, stored, managed and accounted for correctly.

Emergency response

  • Ensure mainstreaming disaster risk reduction as cross cutting issue and participate actively in Emergency operations whenever needed.

 

Qualifications / Languages / Experience / Competencies:

  • Masters in Social Science or any other relevant field.
  • Fluency in English, both in writing and speaking, is required.
  • At least 8 years professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Management experience in Protection context; Technical skills within a humanitarian setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of humanitarian standards such as CPMS, CPiE, SPHERE and CHS.
  • Good numerical, report writing, administration, consultative and leadership skills; able to set clear objectives for staff and to delegate; able to enforce procedures.
  • Good communication skill, both verbal and written communication.
  • Result oriented, analyzing and work independently and with short deadlines.
