Swisscontact is inviting proposals from interested engineers / engineering firms willing to develop sustainable municipal marketplaces and prepare a participatory market development plan in different pilot municipalities within
the context of the PRABRIDDHI project .
About PRABRIDDHI
PRABRIDDHI is a Local Economic Development (LED) project, funded by the Governments of Bangladesh and Switzerland, and co-implemented by the Local Government Division (LGD) and Swisscontact. The pilot phase of PRABRIDDHI came to a successful end in August 2020. Phase 1 of the project started in January 2021 for a period of four years and focuses on the further development of the LED approach in participating municipalities, capacity building of stakeholders and facilitators of LED, and anchoring of the approach on the national level. Throughout the phase, the project will be implemented in seven municipalities. Shibganj, Jashore, Bogura, and Bhairab, are the four municipalities where the project has been operating. In 2023, PRABRIDDHI started implementation in two new municipalities, Dinajpur and Kushtia.

PRABRIDDHI is seeking an Expression of Interest (EOI) from interested engineers/engineering firmswilling to:

Requirements:
The engineers/engineering firmsfirm must conform to the following experience and expertise:
- Minimum of 5 (Five) years of relevant experience in the design, planning, and implementation of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) infrastructure projects, preferably with a focus on marketplaces or public communal space;
- Demonstrated experience in participatory planning and community engagement methodologies, with proven ability to engage and work with diverse stakeholder groups, including municipal authorities, local communities, and vendors;
- Prior experience in preparing tender documents, and technical specifications, with a strong understanding of procurement processes and regulations.
Contract Duration
The duration of the contract is 6 (Six) months, effective from the date of signing.

Following the response to the initial EOI, an online discussion session will be hosted by PRABRIDDHI for the selected engineers/engineering firm and a detailed intervention Terms of Reference (ToR) will be shared.
