Opportunity for skills assessors’ training for the RMG and construction sectors

Sudokkho, in cooperation with the Industry Skills Councils in the RMG and the construction sectors, offers the opportunity to become skills assessor, certified by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). The training is for nine days and will be financed by Sudokkho. The training programme includes technical and pedagogical topics. After successful completion of the training, candidates will receive a BTEB accredited certificate that provides access to part-time jobs as skills assessor. Sudokkho stimulates industry and training providers to employ skills assessors as integrated part of skills development programmes.

Participants should be highly skilled craftsmen who are engaged in the industry, such as ustads, foremen and supervisors and preferably HSC completed or diploma in technical subjects. Participants will be subjected to a technical skills test at NTVQ (National Technical and Vocational Qualification) level 1 before admission.

The training will be provided by either UCEP-Bangladesh or SAIC Institute of Management and Technology, two renowned and BTEB accredited training institutes for skills assessors training. A series of trainings will be provided throughout the year 2017.

Specific construction sector occupations that the assessors training focuses on are: mason, house wiring electrician, plumber and pipe fitter, scaffolding and form fitter, rod binder, welder (grill maker), tiles fitter, aluminium fabricator, building painter, and finishing carpenter. For the RMG sector this is focused on sewing machine operator.
