Save the Children invites applications for the following positions under an urgent response program to recent Rohingya Crisis in Bangladesh. We are working in different locations in Cox’s Bazar, providing vital services to displaced Rohingya peoples, including distributing the food, shelter, water & sanitation, education, health, nutrition, and child protection needs of the Rohingya refugees, particularly of the children.

Asset Officer

Responsibilities:
Asset Officer will properly manage SCI assets and general equipment in accordance with SCI policies by properly maintaining its records on financial information and movement, ensuring functionality and implement donor requirement of the assets, this includes asset disposal process and documentation. S/He will

  • Responsible in ensuring all SCI assets in the response are properly manage in accordance with SCI policies and procedures on Asset Management, with reference to donor requirement
  • Ensure smooth, well documented, and clear transition process of Asset Management from Admin to Logistics.
  • Receive and verify arriving assets to ensure items are in accordance with written specification.
  • Ensure all assets are registered with full information in the Asset Register, and they are tagged with asset sequential serial number.
  • Assign Asset ID Card to each asset and ensure appropriate signing of ID cards for assets assigned to any individual staff.
  • Maintain copy of asset purchase documents for quick reference on financial information of each asset.
  • Ensure all in-stock assets are stored properly and there is restricted and controlled access to storage of assets.
  • Propose and follow up on asset reparation. Work on cost effectiveness analysis before proposing any repair to ensure the best option considered whether to repair or to purchase new asset.
  • Together with assigned staff member, conduct random asset verification every quarter and follow up on any finding and/or suggested improvement.
  • Together with a committee, conduct full physical asset verification at the end of every year and update Asset Register accordingly following any result of full asset verification.
  • Support closing of projects by working on development and implementation of asset disposal plan as per guidelines and instruction provided by Supply Chain Manager.
  • Submit updated Asset Register every end of the month as part of monthly report.
  • Disseminate message to relevant outside stakeholders on Child Safeguarding, including no under age children should involve in any labor work in asset supply, repair/maintenance, and disposal..

Requirements:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in asset management, preferably with NGO and/or UN agencies. Self-organized and good administration skills with ability to maintain precise and full records of information.
  • Excellent verbal communication in Bangla, and excellent verbal and writing communication in English (for email communications, understanding donor regulations, read asset manuals, etc).
  • Good users of Microsoft Excel. Experience in working with asset management software would be an advantage.
  • Has knowledge and skill on ICT.
  • The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in management or business filed. Certification/diploma in asset management.
  • Certificates related to this position and area of responsibilities is preferable.
