Save the Children invites applications for the following positions under an urgent response program to recent Rohingya Crisis in Bangladesh. We are working in different locations in Cox’s Bazar, providing vital services to displaced Rohingya peoples, including distributing the food, shelter, water & sanitation, education, health, nutrition, and child protection needs of the Rohingya refugees, particularly of the children.

Psychosocial Counselor

  • The Psychosocial Counsellor in the Nutrition, Health and Child Protection team has the responsibility for providing ongoing support to volunteers, CFS facilitators, GFS facilitators, MCHN promoters, community mobilizers.
  • Child protection, clinical and nutrition staff (including IYCF staff) to include psychosocial support in their work.
  • The role also includes facilitation group based psychosocial support for children, caregivers and community members, and for supporting the identification and referrals of children and caregivers with mental health related problems. 


  • Minimum 2 years’ of relevant experience in any development organization with experience in psychosocial support, communication with vulnerable children and adults, giving guidance and referrals for access to necessary support and services and conducting community awareness raising about psychosocial support.
  • Ideal candidates should have experience of focused support to children and adults in distress, conducting group discussions with adults and children, facilitating training sessions, interviewing, reporting, documenting, analyzing and summarizing qualitative data as well as basic knowledge on child rights and child protection issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office;
  • Good communication skills in English, Bengali;
  • Trustworthiness; integrity; willingness of frequent field travel and capability of working under pressure are also essential.
  • Master’s Degree in any relevant subject preferably Psychology/Sociology/Social Welfare.
  • Considering experience educational qualification may relaxed.
  • Familiarity with local context as well as language will be a plus.
