The role

Under the supervision of the Senior Warehouse Officer, deliver timely, effective and accountable logistics support to Save the Children field team including coordinating with sectors in the field level and ensuring effective procurement and supply management; communicating with suppliers regarding pending POs; dispatching, monitoring and tracking of goods to field locations in accordance to program distribution plans.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to adopt to varying working hours accordingly.

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum 03 years’ experience in supply chain management, preferably with NGO and/or UN agencies;
  • Experience in negotiation, and management of casual workers;
  • Handling of cash payments for the workers;
  • Good knowledge on various size of trucks, capacities, and safety in transportation;
  • Self-organized and good administrative skills in handling of various documentations;
  • Knowledge of good practices in storage of food items, perishable items, and NFIs;
  • Excellent verbal communication in Bangla, and workable verbal and writing communication in English (for email communications);
  • Good users of Microsoft Excel. Experience in working with stock management software would be an advantage.

Contract length: 06 months with possibility of extension depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
