Advisor - Midwifery Education, SNMP

Save the Children invites applications for the above mentioned positions for a project title Strengthening National Midwifery Program (SNMP) which will support to improve quality of evidence based midwifery care in selected public health facilities in different Districts and Upazilas of all Divisions in Bangladesh. Qualified women are strongly encouraged to apply. Minimum requirements will be flexible for the potential female candidates.

The role

In coordination with SNMP Technical team, this position will be responsible for providing technical support to nursing institutes for midwives theoretical and clinical skill building. S/he will conduct mapping of potential “collaborating institutions,” including those in the public, private and non-government sectors and support developing midwifery curriculum. The Advisor will also support the development of harmonized and standardized education curriculum for midwives, working closely with the DGNM, Dalarana University focal person, nursing institutes/college authorities, SNMP team at Dhaka and district level. S/he will identify innovative ways for ensuring education quality of the midwives and provide skill lab training and simulation to midwifery faculties at NI/NCs;

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 7 years’ experience in public health programs
  • Demonstrated expertise in educational curriculum development
  • Experience in working with institutes and developing educational curriculum
  • Fluency in Bangla and English- both oral and written
  • Willing to travel field frequently
  • Proficiency in MS Office application
  • Master’s Degree in Social Science or equivalent, candidates having MPH degree will get preference

Contract length: Contractual up to December 2019
