The role
The sector-focused Senior MEAL Officer will be responsible for leading on the design and implementation of the monitoring system and learning agenda for their designated sector, in coordination with sector teams (especially sector Technical Advisors) and with support from the Senior MEAL Manager and Technical Advisor-MEAL. This includes

  • Developing MEAL plans and developing and managing Indicator Performance Tracking Tables (IPTTs) for all grants that include activities under their sector;
  • Maintaining the sector-specific section of the Rohingya Response Output Tracker;
  • Designing data collection tools (e.g. Post Distribution Monitoring questionnaires, Focus Group Discussion guides), overseeing data collection, entry and cleaning, undertaking data analysis and producing reports, and sharing findings and recommendations with sector teams and other key stakeholders to improve programming and support Awards reporting;
  • Designing and facilitating learning sessions related to key topics under their sectors;
  • Building the MEAL capacity of sector team colleagues, MEAL Assistants and partner staff through training, coaching etc.

Qualifications and experience

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field
  • At least four years’ experience of working in MEAL
  • Sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data collection, processing and analysis, including database management
  • Ability to develop and implement MEAL plans and IPTTs
  • Ability to produce clear, high quality, analytical and action-oriented reports
  • Experience of facilitating learning processes (for example, lesson learning workshops)
  • Experience of building capacity in MEAL, including delivering training
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Good spoken, reading and writing skills in English & Bangla
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a strong team player, with flexibility to shift priorities and take on additional tasks at short notice

Contract length: 06 months, strong possibility of extension depending on availability of funding and performance
