Deputy Manager - District Quality Improvement, MaMoni - MNCSP

Save the Children invites applications for the above mentioned position under the five-year USAID funded MaMoni-Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening (MaMoni-MNCSP) Project. The major focus of this project is to contribute to Government of Bangladesh’s Health Population Nutrition Sector Program to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity through the project’s strategic objective of Increased Equitable Utilization of Quality Maternal and Newborn Care Services. Key outcomes of the project will be achieved through four closely linked intermediate results to advance health system responsiveness, MNC service quality and governance, access and demand for services and healthy household practices, and national capacity to deliver these services with quality at scale. This project will support implementation in 10 Districts (Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Feni, Chandpur, Habigonj, Brahmanbaria, Manikgonj, Faridpur, Madaripur, Kushtia), in addition to  providing national level technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to scale up evidence-based interventions and practices.

The role
 
In collaboration with DQI Manager, this position will be mainly responsible for providing support the execution and follow up the Learning Network Model for improvement of MNCH services and other relevant QI initiatives at the district and sub-district level. S/he will engage & mentor district managers of DGHS and DGFP to play leadership role in developing, practising & establishing the Learning Network Model, advocate and influences the QI committee meetings and/or separate meeting at district and upazila level. The Deputy Manager will also provide support for measuring Learning Network Model indicators at testing sites and make use of data to advocate for improvement of the network and for stimulating innovative actions for achievement of aims. The incumbent will be facilitating field visits at the assigned district for MoH&FW, Donors, Different DPs, Stakeholders, SCI, MaMoni-MNCSP representatives as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • BMDC registered Medical Graduate (MBBS) is required, Masters in Public Health (MPH) will be an added value
  • At least 05 years of working experience, preferably in implementing MNCH health programs at district, sub-district, and health facility levels through GOB structures
  • Experience in implementing QI interventions is highly preferred
  • Ability to set up and keep up effective and cooperative working rapport with all sorts of counterpart
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of process improvement
  • Ability to plan, organize and assist local data collection activities of QI Learning Network
  • Ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritize manifold tasks and deadlines
  • The candidate is required to travel 60% of the time for supporting district level Learning Network related activities
  • Proficiency in MS Office package

Contract length: Contractual up to September, 2019
