Deputy Manager Local Government Strengthening, HOPE Project

The role

This position will be mainly responsible for providing support/guidance on capacity building of partners on the local governance issues and ensuring quality service delivery for the education of Children with Disabilities (CWDs) through inclusive education approach and other excluded children and accountability of the local government and service provider. S/he will also coordinate with Manager–Child friendly Local Governance (CFLG) to manage and implement Policy, Rights and Governance theme that will ensure increased budget allocation and dedicated annual plans from Local government to support education for children with disabilities and Out of school children.  This position will also provide support for planning/budgeting for children and will link the advocacy at national level on investment in children, with advocacy at local level on CFLG. The incumbent will maintain smooth coordination with local level stakeholders, including parents, caregivers, community, government and others.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 5 years experiences in the relevant field, preferably in Inclusive Education, Child Rights and/or Rights based approach, local governance and partnership management.
  • Sound knowledge on UNCRC and other Human Rights instruments
  • Experience on inclusive education, local governance, social accountability and partnership management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in English and Bangla
  • Prior experience of working with local governance actors will be an advantage.
  • Master’s Degree, preferably in Social Science or relevant field.

Contract length: Contractual up to March, 2019
